HuffPo: Roy Moore Is Still Around, And His Senate Bid Isn't Going So Well:
The Alabama Republican ended the latest quarter with just $34,000 cash on hand.

* * *

From July 1 through Sept. 30, Moore raised $63,000 and spent $45,000, leaving him with about $34,000 cash on hand, a Federal Election Commission report filed Tuesday shows.

That’s substantially less than his rivals for the Republican nomination to take on Sen. Doug Jones (D). U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne ended the period with $2.5 million cash on hand, Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill finished with $738,429, and former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville wrapped up the quarter with $1.4 million.

* * *

Jones, seeking a full six-year term for the seat Jeff Sessions (R) gave up to become Trump’s attorney general, raised just over $2 million in the third quarter. The campaign spent $1.2 million during that period and ended it with $5 million on hand.

I doubt that many Alabama Republicans are willing to forgive Roy Moore for losing an election that should have been a slam dunk for their party.
Off Topic
Roy doesn't need to raise money. He is going to take Sacha Baron Cohen to the cleaners with the help of Larry Klayman. (Snicker :rotflmao: )

Vanity Fair:
Long-Suffering Jeff Sessions Is “Seriously Considering” Running For His Old Senate Seat
:
Trump’s former attorney general, who was humiliated out of office last year, is reportedly thinking about getting back into politics.

Jeff Sessions relinquished a prestigious gig in the United States Senate to serve as Donald Trump’s first attorney general—an immiserating role in which he was openly berated by his boss, for months, before an unceremonious ouster last November. It’s been nearly a year since the public has heard much from the Alabama politician, an absence from the spotlight that has doubtless been just fine by most Americans. But that may be about to change: Politico reports that Sessions is “seriously considering” running to retake his old Senate seat in 2020, which was snatched away by Democrat Doug Jones last year.

“We are hearing that Sessions is seriously considering running for Senate again and that polling indicates he would be in very good shape,” David McIntosh, president of the right-wing Club for Growth, told Politico, which also cited multiple other Republican sources. “The Club for Growth has in the past and would once again encourage him to run for that Senate seat.”

* * *

Despite the win, Jones is now considered among the most vulnerable Democrats up for reelection next year, and a host of Republicans, including Moore, are champing at the bit to take him on. And Sessions, who previously held the seat and served as a top Trump administration official, would be an immediate frontrunner. Although the field could be crowded, Sessions would have more name recognition than Rep. Bradley Byrne, ex-Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville, Secretary of State John Merrill, or State Rep. Arnold Mooney. Unlike Moore, he’s never been banned from a shopping mall.

Still, a Sessions reboot would test his standing with conservative voters following his fall-out with Trump, who raged over the attorney general’s decision to recuse himself from the FBI’s Russia probe—a private frustration that the president felt no compunction about airing in press conferences, interviews, and countless tweets. “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself?” Trump fumed in a July 2017 interview with the New York Times—the first known instance of the president publicly criticizing Sessions. “If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’”

Jeff got a BIG THUMBS UP from Jim Hoft's Gateway House of Boys and Pundits! 8-)
UGH! Traitor Jeff Sessions Seriously Considering Entering 2020 Senate Race in Alabama
by Cristina Laila October 28, 2019

After recusing himself like a coward and allowing Rosenstein and Mueller to hijack the Justice Department for two years – which ended in a bloodbath of Trump associates, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions is seriously considering entering the 2020 race for his old Senate seat in Alabama. Jeff Sessions, 72, served in the Senate for over 20 years before President Trump chose him to be US Attorney General. Sessions has until Friday, November 8th to qualify for the ballot.

Thankfully Trump fired Jeff Sessions and brought on Bill Barr to be his new Attorney General. Barr took control of Mueller’s witch hunt and immediately shut it down. Sessions cited the wrong law when he recused himself from the Russia investigation and all things Hillary Clinton the first day on the job. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein became the de facto Attorney General and quickly appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller and gave him permission to rove around unchecked in a massive, $35 million witch hunt.

Mueller, Rosenstein, Weissmann and over a dozen angry, crooked Democrat donors on the special counsel’s team ruined many lives and reputations over the past two years with perjury traps and damaging leaks to the media. General Mike Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and Carter Page were targeted for ruin — Manafort ended up in solitary confinement and sentenced to over 10 years in prison. Flynn, a three-star General, was forced to sell a home after being buried in legal fees thanks to Mueller’s corrupt witch hunt.

Sessions’ cowardly recusal is the gift that keeps on giving. A federal judge just ruled that the Democrats can now have access to secret grand jury information and intelligence material in Mueller’s report to use for their sham impeachment inquiry.

I'm still rooting for the paedophile to win the Republican primary. Sessions will probably run as an indie and split the vote.

Newsweek: Donald Trump Will Publicly Attack Jeff Sessions in Alabama Senate Race as GOP Fears Roy Moore Could Become Nominee: Report:
President Donald Trump has privately warned Jeff Sessions that he will publicly attack him if the former attorney general chooses to run for the Senate in Alabama, according to a report.

* * *

The New York Times reported that Trump sent a message to Sessions last week warning him of public attacks if he runs for Alabama's Senate seat, which he held held previously for 20 years, from 1997 to 2017 when he became attorney general.

Somebody on some news show this evening said that above all else, what Alabama voters like is defiance.

Put that in the crockpot along with the other insane reasons.

The Confederacy is alive and well in Alabama. That's as defiant as it gets.

Other than Roy Moore, have any Republicans made any noise about running in the primary? I can't find any, but I find it hard to believe Mo Brooks or someone like that wouldn't want to take another shot.

With Moore's issues and Sessions having incurred the undying wrath of POTUS, Doug Jones may be able to hold this seat after all. :daydream:

Coach Tommy Tuberville.
A new poll in the GOP primary for the U.S. Senate shows former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville growing his lead.

36% of likely Republican voters chose Tuberville, while 15% chose former Chief Justice Roy Moore, and 13% chose Congressman Bradley Byrne. 26% of voters remain undecided

Associated Press
Alabama Secretary of State suspends Senate campaign, cites Jeff Sessions

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill suspended his campaign for the U.S. Senate on Sunday, citing former Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ entrance into the crowded Republican race.

Merrill announced his decision in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

Merrill said he “saw a path to victory” when he entered the race in June, but that Sessions’ decision to join the field last month “dramatically” changed the race to challenge Democratic Sen. Doug Jones in 2020.

“With Senator Sessions’ late entry into this race, we have come to realize that a crowded Republican primary only benefits Doug Jones and the out of touch liberal Democrats,” Merrill said in the statement.

Others contending for the GOP nomination include former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne, state Rep. Arnold Mooney and Roy Moore, the right-wing lightning rod who faced allegations of sexual misconduct and lost to Jones in the 2017 special election.

UPDATE:
It should be noted that Moore’s latest video is the exact same as an ad he released in August of 2017, except the last eight seconds have been replaced with text about the misinformation campaign (H/T to Brian Lyman for pointing this out on Twitter).

No action on Trenton Garmon's nonprofit: https://www.taxexemptworld.com/organiza ... labama.asp

Trenton.JPG

Can't find anything further on his arrest. But Trenton pops up in a story... he was on the board of a (now) admitted male child sexual abuser.

Black Collar Crime: Evangelist Acton Bowen Pleads Guilty to Sex Crimes
Bruce Gerencser December 4, 2019 2 Comments

In April 2018, Evangelical evangelist Acton Bowen was arrested on child sexual abuse charges.

AL.com reported at the time:

A well-known Alabama evangelist, public speaker and author was arrested in Hoover Tuesday on child sex charges. Paul Edward Acton Bowen, a 37-year-old Gadsden native who now lives in Etowah County’s Southside community, was taken into custody by Hoover police about 12:35 p.m. The founder of Acton Bowen Outreach Ministries is charged with second-degree sodomy, enticing a child to enter a vehicle or house for immoral purposes, and second-degree sex abuse. The victim was a young male, but police did not release his age except to say he is over 12 and under 16.
***
After posting the two aforementioned stories, it was reported that, two days after Bowen’s arrest, his wife filed for divorce, stating that she “fears for her immediate safety from (her husband) and any third parties that may attempt to contact (her husband) as a result of the crimes for which he has been alleged to have committed.” Several days later, two of Bowen’s ministry board members, Trenton Garmon and Josh Dodd, resigned. Al.com reported that Bowen was required by his board to install the Covenant Eyes porn-blocking software on his computer. Why? That’s a rhetorical question, by the way. A daily report was sent to his accountability partner. No mention is made of how board members ensured Bowen was not accessing pornography on other devices.

What stood out in the AL.com report is the following statement by Garmon:

We requested that he never be alone with any female other than his wife. And we requested that he never be alone with a male minor which I considered to be someone under 16 years old. I was told that these minimums were being followed. Yet, in light of the allegation, it appears that the Guardian Policy was not always honored. This is not to imply criminal guilt by any means, yet our policy was not abided by. As you may be aware he has publicly denied the criminal allegations.

Why did Bowen’s board specifically require him to never be alone with boys under the age of sixteen and never be alone with females regardless of their age, other than his wife?
***
On Monday, the “innocent” Acton Bowen pleaded guilty to 28 counts of sexual abuse involving victims between the ages of 13 and 16. I wonder if his praying supporters will now admit that Bowen is a sexual predator; that it is likely Bowen sexually molested other children who have not yet reported their abuse to law enforcement? Is it too much to ask that God’s people, in unison, condemn Bowen for his heinous behavior? I jest. Bowen’s supporters will scurry away in the night like cockroaches when the light is turned on, but few will take to social media or blogs to publickly excoriate Bowen. Forgive, forget, and move on. That’s what Evangelicals do.
