Republicans grow anxious about the Trump economy
Trump's trade war with China could undermine GOP chances of holding the White House and Senate in 2020.

Republicans have sat patiently with President Donald Trump on his tariff roller-coaster ride with China. Now they’re starting to feel queasy.

Trump argues his escalating trade war will force China to the table for a deal. But his ever-rising tariffs — and his market-rattling tweets — are increasingly alarming the GOP.

Control of the Senate

#2

Post by bob »

Republicans currently control the Senate, 53-47. To regain the Senate, Democrats must win four seats, or three plus the presidency.

538 assessed the 35 upcoming Senate races, and concludes these are the most competitive ones:

Jones (D-AL); lean R.
McSally (R-AZ); toss up.
Ernst (R-IA); lean R.
Tillis (R-NC); toss up.
Peters (D-MI); lean D.
Gardner (R-CO); toss up.
Collins (R-ME); toss up-ish.

...if all seven lost their seats, the Senate would be tied.
