1/18/20 Flash Poll -- Who Are Your Top 5 Democratic Candidate Choices For President?

Just for fun and to give some feedback to DNC and other friends, of the remaining candidates, who are your top 5 picks? Not whom do you think will win, but the candidate you plan to vote for in your primary. Interested in seeing the number 2 and 3 picks and if there's any consensus.

After a lot of thinking about it, we're planning to vote Pete in the primary (although Florida is so late it might not matter), a younger voice would be really welcome. Getting energy and enthusiasm is going to be really important running against a failed game show host. But as always, we'll fight with all our might for whomever the nominee is.

For us:

1. Buttigieg
2. Biden
3. Warren
4. Klobachar
5. Yang

Here's the list:

Michael Bennet
Joe Biden
Michael Bloomberg
Pete Buttigieg
John Delaney
Tulsi Gabbard
Amy Klobuchar
Deval Patrick
Bernie Sanders
Tom Steyer
Elizabeth Warren
Andrew Yang

The polling feature just allows 10 choices so left Deval and Tulsi out. Trying something different, allowing 5 options in the poll, curious to see how that will stack up. Just a fun weekend look at where we're at. If there's an OTHER, just point that out in the list.

I went with, in no real order:

Elizabeth Warren
Bernie Sanders
Pete Buttegieg
Amy Klobachar
Joe Biden

But no matter who, I'll vote blue.

i still haven’t really decided between warren & sanders & i may not until election day. if both of them died in a plane crash before my primary, then i’d vote for buttigieg and tell myself that there were worse choices to be made. if pete was in the plane, too, then i’d cut myself and go vote for biden & then come back & cut myself more. if everyone died but yang, then i’d vote for gloria la riva

I've pretty much decided that I'd like to see a Biden/Buttigieg ticket. Biden would only be serving one term anyway and Buttigieg needs the national exposure that serving as VP would give him.

Alphabetically, Biden, Bloomberg, Sanders, Warren, Yang. The other ones I’m simply unfamiliar with.

Bloomberg

I'll work and vote enthusiastically for any of the above if they're the nominee.

Far less enthusiastically, I will vote for anyone else nominated by the Democrats, except Tulsi Gabbard. Her, I'll have to be dragged kicking and screaming to vote for and then only if I can be convinced that she won't end up being as bad or worse than Trump.

I included Steyer, because I was pretty sure nobody else would and I felt bad for him. Not a good reason, I know. I never took to Klobuchar, not sure why. Bennett, I like, but he hasn't even tried, so hell with him. I actually like Bloomberg's transit plans, so it wouldn't have hurt me to vote for him in this flash poll, but I didn't think of it.

Judgement is one of my pet peeves. But it seems like the entire English-speaking universe has problems with English pronouns. People are lazy. Sometimes one has to write around the pronoun problem (the desire to avoid gender a specific pronoun) by restructuring a sentence. But people are too lazy to do so. However, there is no excuse for the confusion among "I," "me" and "myself."

Nobody disses Trump like Steyer disses Trump. With our caucuses about two weeks away, I'm getting a deluge of political ads. Whomever gets the nomination needs to take pages from Steyer's campaign playbook when they hit the road and start campaigning.

Not a lot of love for Leon Blum Bernie Sanders. He comes in 7th in this mini poll. (So far.) Even Yang beats him. And Yang probably has less experience than Trump.

Buttigieg. He's the only one that has a reasonable chance of defeating Trump. Bernie's beyond the looney edge of socialists and frankly he and Biden are too old and have been in politics far too long. Warren is an ivory-tower intellectual and Bloomberg is another politico who isn't going to be able to buy the election no matter how much he spends; the nation doesn't want another billionaire New Yorker running things.

Warren grew up in a lower middle class family. She's not an ivory tower intellectual, she's just really, really smart. But I know that can be a little intimidating for some people.

I chose her, Boot Edge Edge, and Yang. None of the others excite me at all, but I'll vote for the Dem in the general, of course, no matter who that is.

Bloomberg is a genuine billionaire. Trump is not. It's phony to pretend they're equal in any way.
