Welcome to the Democratic Presidential nomination, Governor Cuomo.
I think this charge is complete bullshit. The woman changed her story and loves Putin:

Here is a post Tara Reade made in 2018 and then deleted before she started trying to smear Biden.

Here's what I thought. I have worked in the US Congress and am very familiar with the House and Senate office buildings. The location didn't seem a realistic place for this kind of thing to allegedly happen.

But what really struck me was that this was supposedly in 1993 and she said she was not wearing hose (pantyhose?) or underwear because it was hot. 1993 was an important year in my life because I was preggers. I spent all of 1993 in Houston, Harris County, Texas, and it's as hot if not hotter here than DC on a sustained basis. It was not, in 1993, considered acceptable here for any woman to be in an office setting without hose. Same thing on Capitol Hill. The only conceivable exception is if you were working on Saturday or Sunday and you were wearing shorts. But that's not her story.

Now if he had unprotected sex with a porn star or an affair with a Playmate, that would be disqualifying, right?

What law school did Tara Reade go to? The same one Gavin Seim went to? She adds "J.D." after her name. :yankyank: I guess we're supposed to be impressed. If it's actually true, all that means is "didn't take or pass the bar."

Absolutely. The requirement to wear panty hose was a scourge that had not yet ended in the early 90s, even in the office where I worked in rural Idaho.

This is another whataboutism thing. If we believed Brett Kavanaugh's accuser, we're supposed to believe this person.

Then stay home or write in bernie while Trump's cult gets him reelected.

as best I can tell, that's the whole point.

FOX NEWS POLL Published 6 hours ago
Fox News Poll: Biden leads Trump, wins high marks for female VP pledge

Former Vice President Joe Biden bests President Donald Trump by nine points in a 2020 ballot test, in the first Fox News Poll since Biden became the de facto Democratic nominee. In a head-to-head presidential matchup, Biden is up by 49-40 percent over Trump, a lead that is outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. Another 11 percent would vote for someone else or are undecided. Last month, Biden was ahead by 49-41 percent. The race remains a nine-point advantage for Biden over Trump when looking only at those voters extremely interested in the election (52-43 percent) and the former vice president has an eight-point edge in battleground states (48-40 percent). However, Biden’s advantage grows to 25 points, 57-32 percent, in close counties (where Hillary Clinton and Trump were within 10 points in 2016).
***
In the matchup, Biden is the choice among liberals, non-whites, moderates, suburban women, and voters ages 65 and over. Trump leads among conservatives, white evangelical Christians, those who attend religious services regularly, white men, and whites without a college degree. meanwhile, by a three-to-one margin, voters like Biden’s commitment to choose a woman as his running mate. Overall, 63 percent approve of his promise to pick a female, while 20 percent disapprove (17 percent unsure). There is no gender gap, but voters under age 45 are 10 points more likely than those ages 45 and over to approve (70 vs. 60 percent). Among Democrats, approval climbs to 86 percent.

Vetting of possible Democratic vice presidential candidates will reportedly start soon. The poll asks about the three female senators who also ran for the party’s nomination -- Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, and Elizabeth Warren. A Biden-Warren ticket bests Trump-Pence by 10 points and is the only ticket tested that puts the Democrats over the 50 percent threshold, 52-42 percent. The Trump-Pence ticket also trails both Biden-Klobuchar and Biden-Harris tickets by 8 points (both 50-42 percent). The Democratic edge in all three matchups is outside the poll’s margin of sampling error.
***
Both Democrats (80 percent) and Republicans (83 percent) believe the outcome of the November election will be “very” important to the direction of the country. Overall, 79 percent of voters feel the election will be “very” important. That’s up from 60 percent who felt that way just weeks before the 2014 midterm elections (October 2014), the only other time the question was asked on a Fox News poll. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, over half of voters, 53 percent, are “extremely” interested in the presidential election. That is about where interest stood in January and February (both 55 percent extremely interested).

Conducted March 21-24, 2020 under the joint direction of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company (R), this Fox News Poll includes interviews with 1,011 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide who spoke with live interviewers on both landlines and cellphones. The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points for all registered voters.

About time, Joe.
NBC News: Biden calls for Trump to appoint a 'supply commander' to coordinate critical material distribution

Biden calls for Trump to appoint a 'supply commander' to coordinate critical material distribution

Former Vice President Joe Biden, the likely Democratic nominee, is calling for President Donald Trump to appoint a "supply commander" to "coordinate critical materials for all 50 states and U.S. territories" in need as they contend with the coronavirus.

“This public health crisis is foremost a human crisis, but it is also a crisis of supply, logistics and distribution. States, hospitals, and health care providers should not have to bid against one another, or against the federal government to get the supplies that they desperately need," Biden said in a statement on Saturday.

“It is clear that the current structure President Trump has put in place is not working — either because he hasn't fully empowered those in charge or because he hasn't made it clear that the mandate must be to take over the entire supply chain and determine the demand across all of our states, tribes and territories for these critical materials," he continued.

Biden also released his own plan about coordinating and distributing personal protective equipment to all 50 states and territories. He has often publicly called for Trump and his administration to adopt his policy plans.

New York Times OpEd - Joe Biden
Joe Biden: My Plan to Safely Reopen America

An effective strategy to beat the virus is the ultimate answer to how we get our economy back on track.

First, we have to get the number of new cases of the disease down significantly. That means social distancing has to continue and the people on the front lines have to get the supplies and equipment they need. President Trump needs to use his full powers under the Defense Production Act to fight the disease with every tool at our disposal. He needs to get the federal response organized and stop making excuses. For more Americans to go back to their jobs, the president needs to do better at his job.

Second, there needs to be widespread, easily available and prompt testing — and a contact tracing strategy that protects privacy. A recent report from Mr. Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services made clear that we are far from achieving this goal.

We should be running multiple times the number of diagnostic tests we’re performing right now. And we should be ready to scale up a second form of testing: rapid serology tests to tell who has already been infected with the coronavirus and has antibodies. This isn’t rocket science; it’s about investment and execution. We are now several months into this crisis, and still this administration has not squarely faced up to the “original sin” in its failed response — the failure to test.

Third, we have to make sure that our hospitals and health care system are ready for flare-ups of the disease that may occur when economic activity expands again. Reopening the right way will still not be completely safe. Public health officials will need to conduct effective disease surveillance. Hospitals need to have the staff and equipment necessary to handle any local outbreaks, and we need an improved federal system to get help to these places as needed.

Make no mistake: An effective plan to beat the virus is the ultimate answer to how we get our economy back on track. So we should stop thinking of the health and economic responses as separate. They are not.

Read on Twitter today: Biden would be America's most liberal president ever.

From where I sit, this is oddly true. Thirty some years ago, he was my guy--the most liberal guy I could find. Even in 2008, I was in his camp while he we was running. This go round he was fifth on my list. The last thirty years has been interesting.

It kind of does.

Sanders' supporters seem to have latched on to it more than anyone, however.

I guess it does present a moral dilemma. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden have been accused of sexual assault. So what's a person of good conscience to do?

Well, I know that the people who are likely to vote for Donald Trump won't let the allegations against him stop them from voting for him. They're counting on people like me, who tend to be more sympathetic to sexual assault victims, to just shrug my shoulders, figure one's just as bad as the other and stay home (or maybe vote third party).

I'm not going to do that. I'm voting for Biden and if that makes me look like a bad guy, so be it.

NPR: Great Recession Recovery Effort Shaped A Key Part Of Biden's Record

In February 2009, the country was in the midst of the worst economic downturn it had experienced since the Great Depression. Unemployment was over 8%, job losses were widespread, and economic anxiety was spreading.

Congress passed a massive economic rescue package, just as it has to avoid economic peril from the coronavirus outbreak, known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. It included tax cuts, expanded unemployment support, infrastructure projects and money for a range of Democratic domestic priorities, such as green jobs and high-speed rail.

In total, the package added up to roughly $800 billion.

The person put in charge of overseeing how all that money was spent was the country's new vice president, Joe Biden. Now that he's secured the top spot on the Democratic ticket, Biden's management experience in that crisis may be an important part of his record to voters, as they weigh whether he should replace President Trump, with the impact of the current crisis likely to still weigh on the country in November.

We all use our own judgement and experience in #MeToo situations. From what we know of character, some accusations are believable on their faces, some require more investigation

Tara Reade is not believable.

I haven’t seen much discussion of Joe’s general touchy-feeliness lately. He’s old school touchy-feely, it’s a well-known thing about him. I don’t remember any other accusations against him over the years for moving beyond that. Do you?

Trump and Fox News and the Republicans will attack Obama. Fortunately, Obama has a thick skin and a keen wit. Trump, on the other hand, is witless. And loudly proves that every day.
