Re: The death penalty

:snippity: There’s a difference between a deterrent and a bargaining chip. Folks bent on murder are unlikely to be deterred by the prospect of the death penalty. Folks already charged are very likely to plead guilty in exchange for life. Even when we thought we knew that a person was manifestly, un...

I'm starting the rumor that this is a plot by Trump to get Ivanka a house seat without an election. Members of the House can only attain their seats through election. Appointment is for Senators only. Not only is Stern correct about appointments being only for Senators, but Gaetz lives in the Panha...

What a difference the lighter color on the walls makes! Stunning!! And I love, love, love the huge windows. I’d probably find it hard to tear myself away from just gazing at that magnificent view. :daydreaming: I hope you enjoy every second of your time there.

Maybe it’s just the shiny white Chicklets veneers, but his ‘let’s smile for the birdie’ face always looks so fake and awkward to me. Actually, fake and awkward describes him quite well. Among many other negative words of course.

Re: Hijack This Thread

I tried Neurontin once, and only took half the dose. I slept for almost 24 hours and still had the pain. I also went through a series of increasingly strong pain medication when I fractured my pelvis and sacrum a number of years ago. I started with either Darvon or Percocet (too long ago to remember...

Also, regarding the alleged extortion/funding the Levinson rescue angle, I'm confused. Does Gaetz family even have $25 million to pay? Dad made much much more than that when he sold his healthcare business in 2008. A settlement for an undisclosed amount was subsequently made concerning allegations ...

The vaccination waiting areas must be some of the happiest places on earth these days. All those people who’ve now gotten at least one shot are so thrilled to have done so. Doctors, nurses, and volunteers like Patagoniagirl all report so much abounding joy.    :thumbsu...

And I know an artist when I see her. I recognized the painting Andy just posted as being very similar in style to Michelle Obama’s official portrait, but didn’t remember the artist’s name. Google to the rescue and yes, Amy Sherald also did the one of Michelle.

Perhaps I was obtuse but I see no reason to believe that the DFO’s campaign NDAs would be substantially, if at all, different from those he used/uses for all his affairs.
Do you mean ‘affairs’ in more than a sexual sense? He certainly had plenty of those.

My neighbor has an adorable four-year-old granddaughter named Ramona. The child’s mother, my neighbor’s daughter-in-law, loved the Beverly Cleary books so much she chose the name because of that.
