Re: Assault on the Capitol (DC)
Is there another side to the coin, as in, "I want to be tried in an area where the jury pool will mostly consist of people who hate Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence so I'll be sure NOT to be convicted?" cuz that seems like it could be a problem for victims. I think that’s exactly what she’s tr...

Re: Assault on the Capitol (DC)
A question for the IAALs (and especially the IAACrLs) here - Is there even any possibility of this case being transferred away from Washington DC? I'd think not, but an opinion from the professionals would be good. Rule 21 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure require transfer to another distr...

Re: The one good thing about Covid...
For me the one good thing about covid, if I had to pick, is that it has strengthened our marriage. We were already good, and I was a little worried about the effect both of us working from home would have, but I needn’t have been. It’s so nice to have coffee breaks and lunch together every day. I no...

I have to roll our trash bins 119 meters (that's 130 yards for you Americans) to the end of our driveway, the longest distance of any home in the whole development. On the bright side, it's hard to hear the trucks that come along and empty them. :| We have to put our trash in the back of our pick-e...

Re: Hijack This Thread
Feeling cranky now. Had to draw upon every stateman cell in my body to compose a polite response to the hospital emergency department requesting us to "honor"the staff we received care from when she fell a few weeks ago. Down South you can simply write "Well bless your heart", b...

We drove into our property today just as a pileated woodpecker started flying low down the middle of our road. we followed it for about an 8th of a mile. It was so cool!

If it was this, I had an extra one from the window box and put it in the ground with regular periwinkle to see what it would do. It completely took over.

There are many varieties of oxalis. We had it as a ground cover in California with yellow flowers. But whatever variety you have, it’ll be beautiful!sugar magnolia wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 11:45 am Or you can let it grow wild and enjoy it. Very soft on bare feet, pretty little pink flowers and it smells good when you walk on it.

My husband got his second Pfizer shot yesterday. Last night his arm was a little sore. This morning he felt a little tired. Now he’s flat on his back with fever and chills. They warned him about that possibility. He’ll be OK.

I remember the 2011 rapture. The night before it was supposed to occur I asked my husband what time the rapture was supposed to happen. He responded, “I’m not allowed to tell you.”

*sigh* It may be fall before we get to move in. We’ve already closed. We own it. It’s insured, and the power has been transferred into our name. But the sellers aren’t out yet. They couldn’t close on their new place until we closed. They were supposed to close on their new place yesterday, but the o...

Re: Madison Cawthorn RWNJ in the House
IANAL, but I was taught that assault is any action which may cause a reasonable person to fear for their safety, or the safety of others, taking into account the time, place and circumstances. Battery is actual physical contact. Pointing a gun at someone, even without pulling the trigger, clearly m...

Re: Rush Limbaugh Is Dead. “Just another dead doper. And a dirtbag.” "Worthless shred of human debris"
I think Rush used the "I'm just an entertainer" meme to excuse his racisst and misogynistic rants. I think he believed what he spouted. He converted my brother to the dark side and I will never forgive him for that. To me, it doesn't matter whether he believed it or not. He knew other peo...

Google Street View
I’m famous! I saw a picture of a google street view car on the intertubes today, and it reminded me of a time last summer when the street view car went by me and Maybedog. I remembered where I was when I saw it, and wondered if it captured me trying to take a picture of it. So I went to that locatio...

Re: Dominion vs. Mike Lindell & MyPillow
Meanwhile, the fallout from Lindell and others' lies continues. The Stark County, Ohio (home of the city of Canton and the NFL Hall of Fame), Board of Elections is getting a lot of pressure to rethink their decision to purchase new voting machines from Dominion. Opponents of the purchase argue that...
