Power’s back, and one of our outdoor cats, Ivy, has returned. Still waiting to see if White Mike makes his way back here.

US v. Trump - Espionage Act - (9:23-cr-80101) District Court, S.D. Florida

Can Jack Smith question the law clerks who quit? They might have some interesting information. No. Or, pedantically: Yes, and the anticipated response to just about every question would be, "I can't answer without revealing privileged information, so I decline to do so." Which Jack Smith ...

The electric company was by. They said there’s a power pole down that will have to be replaced before we get power back. They may or may not get to it today. There’s fire all over the place still, so I understand. We were going to head down to Southern Kitchen in New Market for lunch, but decided to...

Talked to the insurance company yesterday. Everything will be covered. I’m supposed to hear from the adjuster today. We need to make a list of everything that was in the barn. There was quite a bit of stuff, but we’ll be able to do that.

The house and the cabin both survived. I am astonished that the cabin didn’t burn. The flames were so close. Our metal barn was a complete loss. That’s OK. The contents were insured. There are some pics on the View from Maybelot thread. https://thefogbow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=235&start=325 N...

So. We took a drive over to our property. The road up the mountain was closed. The Sherriff’s deputy said he only had control over the Shenandoah County side of the ridge (the border between Shenandoah and Page Counties runs along the top of the ridge). He said the Page County folks might turn us ba...

this is so freaky. We have neighbors, and next-door to them is a 60 acre, wooded tract, and next-door to that is a 20 acre archery range. Near as I can tell, the fire started at the archery range or in that general vicinity. It is now enormous, so big you can’t see the edges of the smoke. And it’s j...

We’re packed up and ready to evacuate. most of our stuff is just stuff, and I don’t really care about it. We grabbed a few things that are irreplaceable and I packed up all my musical instruments. I have about $20,000 worth, and none of it is insured.

NOT a controlled burn, and less than a mile from our house! We’re under a Red Flag Warning for fire. I’m worried. Very mountainous terrain with very few roads.

I haven't followed this that closely, but I don't think it's that unusual for a judge to ask the parties to submit competing jury instructions. It's a starting point for litigating what the instructions will ultimately say.

Will Heath Berger of Berger Fischoff Shumer Wexler & Goodman LLP be deciding if Roodles gets into Heaven? They must be having a great time. This never ceases to make me chuckle. Fans of Better Call Saul will get it. For those who haven’t seen it, the protagonist’s real name is Jimmy McGil...

If he’s facing “insurmountable difficulties” in securing the bond, it seems likely that he’d face similar (if perhaps not identical) difficulties in paying the judgment. To me, that is all the more reason to deny any stay of enforcement, so the judgment creditor can get start collecting. I have no s...

Farros Cousins points to the fine print in the submitted bond and that Carroll's lawyer Roberta Kaplan wants answer from the court. Essentially the fine print gives the defendant 30 days to pay Chubb, then Chubb gets another 30 days to pay Carroll . part may have been mentioned before :snippity: Ye...

I was in the ER again yesterday. I had another allergic reaction. We went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and I had chicken tacos. Chicken. Flour Tortilla. Salsa. That’s it. There must have been some cross-contamination. About an hour after I ate I got a stomach ache. That’s a common symptom with ...
