Missouri Lawmaker Pushes Bill Rolling Back Child Labor Laws

Decisions are made by those who show up. That doesn't just apply to voting in elections; it applies across the board. What we're seeing now is the end product of a concerted effort that the right began years ago to get more people to run for local offices. It's hard to understate the importance of s...

This snake, Walker, needs the Mubarak treatment. :evil:Pluto, you just fell into the Taitz-Trap(tm). Walker is the elected governor just like BO is the elected President. Ok. I missed Mossad. Please, fill me in?IIRC Orly has recently denied saying it (perhaps I'm dreaming that remark by her) but she claimed that the Fake Bomford BC which she filed in Barnett v Obama in Judge Carter's court she received from the Mossad... which is, of course, a lie... a big one.OMFGs!...

Amazon abandons Texas

Looking at amazon's website, it appears that they probably are NOT collecting and keeping sales tax. They don't collect sales tax at all on stuff that they sell, but they do collect (and hopefully pay) taxes for things sold by a number of their affiliates.

I am sure Sgt. Jason Arbor's commander cleared his calendar for Monday morning. It will be interesting to see if Congressperson West interferes in the Military Justice System. I hope the Sergeant didn't think he'd found a home in the Army. This can be seen as a serious breach of discipline as Non Co...

Purpura v. Sebelius (D.N.J.)

I agree that judicial decorum should almost always be the controlling factor and should generally trump the urge to use sarcasm and ridicule in judicial orders. But I gotta admit that I enjoyed the "flyspeck" and "paper-rocks-scissors" orders linked to above as did, I believe, most of the lawyers I ...

The American Family Association is, sadly, not a basement operation. Lea:This is not going to be a comfortable situation, ever. You clearly have the right to your opinons. But that is a very double-edged sword, because so do we. Wow. I'm not sure what exactly exhibit 2 is. It's got a table with what seems to be an analysis of the authorities cited by the government, but it includes other material apparently added completely at random - including a printout of an email sent by one plaintiff to the other plaintiff. Said email...

I went back and looked at the bill, and at some of the sections of existing law modified by the bill. Not only would this bill criminalize dirty pictures sent from one 15 year old to another, it would criminalize a dirty picture sent from one 17 year old to another. There is no exemption built in th...

As others have said, the devil is likely to be in the details here - but I've got very, very strong reservations about this kind of thing. Speaking as the father of a teenage girl, my thoughts naturally tend to drift longingly toward the old fashioned concepts of convents and chastity belts. Neverth...

Looking over the 12/2010 transcript, I found something on pages 60-61 that might be of interest. Q's are from Orly, A's from Liberi. A finding that the court has no jurisdiction is a finding that the court has no jurisdiction. By definition, it does not affect the substantive merit, since the court did not reach the substantive merit, and had no power to rule on the substantive merit. So, basically, if the judge were to grant Orly...

I've got another legal question related to this case. This one came to mind looking at how adamant Orly is that the judge dismiss instead of severing the case. If the case were to be dismissed for lack of diversity, would that typically be a dismissal with or without prejudice? And even if the dismi...
