Re: Fire!

So relieved that FEMA Camp 17 remains undamaged. I was mostly worried for the cars.

I've been following the fire both in the news and reports from my sister in the Valley. Was sending all my equivalent of prayers your way.

That was fun. I was hoping they might toss in a Strunk, Apuzzo or Berg citation as well. But I guess Martin & Sibley will have to do.

It has now officially been years since I attended my last meetup at FEMA Camp 17. I have watched this one from a distance with great jealousy, and vicarious pleasure.

We amaze me.

Re: 2016: Getting to Unity

A lot of us Hillary supporters stay under the radar on social media. I'm not all that argumentative (what! shut up! stop laughing!) particularly with family members. Also SOME (not many, but enough to make me nervous) of Bernie's younger supporters can be -- aggressive on facebook and twitter. So I...

Re: 2016 Superdelegates

One might argue that in major media Hillary was initially given a rather larger lead than she actually had by vote due to superdelegates, and as such that influenced subsequent voting. Not that I'm necessarily arguing that, but I believe such an argument could reasonably be made. One might argue th...

Re: 2016 Superdelegates

Considering that superdelegates are actually having exactly zero impact on the Democratic nomination process this year, it is bizarre to see them causing such wailing and gnashing of teeth. Even without them, Clinton is still comfortably on track to clinch the nomination before the convention, with ...

Re: SovCits forcibly occupy Malheur Wildlife Refuge

LaVoy was "ambushed"? He drove through a police roadblock and almost ran over an officer, then looked to be pulling a gun on them. It's not like he was just minding his own business and officers rushed him. Oh... it gets worse. The claims are not just that it was an "ambush" but that it was a class...

I don't think the CRBA is or was an absolute requirement. It's not. If I go live alone in the woods for 30 years, have I lost the right to defend myself? the right to speak?
