Yep, the fast tests are considered to be "a coin toss." Very unreliable. Even the standard "poke a swab in your brain" tests have false negatives.

Re: Opening up is hard to do.

17 new cases on Oahu today, so, yeah, rates are rising since reopening. However, the new cases so far are not linked to Black Lives Matter protests and Memorial Day Weekend gatherings. Filipinos and Pacific Islanders continue to have higher rates of Covid19, mainly because of poverty and larger fami...

Re: Opening up is hard to do.

Yesterday I wrote that new cases were very slowly starting to appear on Oahu. 3, then 9, another 9, ... today 15. Moving up quickly. :( 4 days until inter-island flights resume. I wonder how long that will last! At least I'll have my first time with kid after 3+ months. (The unfortunate thing about ...

Excellent document. Thanks for posting it. I'll just add this part: Without this important medical context, however, the public was left to reconcile manipulated medical language with the evidence they had personally witnessed. Ultimately, the initial report overstated and misrepresented the role of...

Biden has spoken about stuttering all his adult life. Here's a recent video, but there are many, many others.

Cleaning up my post last weekend about the BLM march in Honolulu. The early report was 1,000 people, which is very high for Oahu. However, it turns out that was the report from only ONE staging area, As the march began, and each staging area joined in, the number rose to 10,000.

They're showing Trump ads several times a day in Hawaii. Very poor quality, and a total waste of money. Fine by me - less $$ to use elsewhere.

Re: Juneteenth 2018

I wrote to my mayor & governor today to encourage recognizing Juneteenth. Hawaii's one of 4 states that don't recognize it. Shameful. I got one response. It's "too late to declare a holiday", but next year the government and employee unions could discuss swapping the election day holiday for Junete...

News media is reporting concern about the rallies spreading covid19. Quite possible. However, one statement I heard was that the increase would take the US over 2,000,000 cases. Reality: on Sunday the US had over 202,000,000 cases already. Meanwhile, the number of cases has never stopped rising if y...
