I see from further googling that the second part of the impeachment clause has been interpreted to mean that the 2 possible outcomes of impeachment are separate. Could a former official be 1. Impeached, and 2. Not convicted, but 3. Barred from further office? Or are 1 and 2 necessary for 3? Because...
