Re: The Pity Party

Jez I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling so blue. You've had extraordinary tough times and I think I can speak for the Boogle that we are all so proud of how you keep moving forward. I'm also glad you feel comfortable enough with us to admit you're struggling. That alone takes a lot of guts. I know ...

Re: Donald Trump 2016

Oh I realize Trump's audience is mostly middle-age white men - but that is also the Union League's base. They do allow women, but that is a relatively recent event.

Re: Donald Trump 2016

Lucky me! Trump will be speaking at the Union League here in Philadelphia this morning at 11 AM. The Union League is right across the street from my office. When I got to the office at 6:30 the street was already full of TV news trucks and I imagine it will only get worse. Hopefully there isn't muc...

Hi. I'm Australian and I've been following the fogbowzers since the Oregon standoff. I luv yuz all. I came across this opinion piece by Christine Flowers in the Alaska Dispatch News. Although it is anti-Trump, it has this to say about Hillary Clinton: Trump has crossed a line, folks, and any excuse...

Re: Donald Trump 2016

I'm in Philly and I've seen the Hillary Clinton "our kids are watching" ad multiple times. I haven't seen a Trump ad on TV, but I've seen his Twitter account "promoted" multiple times on Twitter (I don't follow him). So he is spending some money for that.

i can hear lots of people chanting "Bernie" marching down Broad Street. I'm too high up to be able to look down and see how many people there are, but local news reporting a large march from City Hall to the Convention site so I imagine they are tying up traffic.

Outside Philadelphia City Hall around noon today -- Some people with flags in the center median on South Broad Street, but I couldn't figure out what they wanted because cars were blocking any signs they had and it was too hot to bother getting closer. Lady just standing on the corner of Broad & Che...

Loved Prince but just never got the chance to see him live. Sorry now that I'll never get the chance.

Today I wore a purple dress that I haven't worn for a while. Seems kind of fitting for the news (and a little strange that it was today).

Re: SovCits forcibly occupy Malheur Wildlife Refuge

The thread title originally was about the Hammonds. After the takeover it was changed rather than moving the discussion to a new thread. The first several pages will have the Hammonds in the title. I'm guessing that when Mr Peabody quoted an old post the quote picked up the old title of the thread. ...

Just caught up on this thread - so sorry to hear about your daughter Sugar. The idea of brain surgery sounds incredibly scary. I'm hoping whatever the treatment plan is that you daughter is back to herself very soon.

Need to check the track meet schedule for May to be sure which weekends are open (that's championship time and I can't skip those meets).

Re: Another Shooting

My sister in Eugene just let me know that her friend's niece is a victim of the UCC shooting. She is still alive, but not doing well.

She (my sister's friend) has asked for lots of prayers, and as the pope said, if you don't pray, please send good wishes her way.

Thanks all.

My sister and her husband both work at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. I'm just getting home and seeing that they received some victims but haven't talked to her. Her husband grew up in Oregon and I have a vague memory that he may have family in or near Roseburg. Luckily both of their college age b...

I have my grandfathers elevator operator license - it isn't as old as your bottle. But still such a cool thing to have from another time.

No one swears on a bible in court any more. IDK if they ever did in PA since the Quakers didn't do oaths. I guess you've never visited the courts in the Lone Star State. Nope, I've only testified in Pennsylvania. Nary a bible to be seen, even in the most rural county. Those dang Quakers!! Still hav...

Re: What are you watching on TV these days?

I loved The Glades when it was on and was bummed when it was cancelled. I like fun mystery/detective shows and that's just what it is. Nothing too high brow, but not stupid either. Simply good entertainment that doesn't ask for too much attention. I guess I generally like shows with characters I fin...

Someone (I think it was Bob) wondered a few pages back about the nature of Klayman's administrative suspension in PA. Generally, an administrative suspension happens when an attorney fails to comply the the CLE requirements and/or fails to pay their annual registration fee. PA requires 12 hours of C...

I take the train to work - the same one pretty much every day - and I tend to sit in the car each day.  So, I end up seeing the same people on the train and as we walk to our offices.  From the train platform I can walk through an underground concourse to get to my building.  For months I saw the s...
