Re: Michael Avenatti

I always thought he was just a presentable face (or other facial body part) for the other lawyers who would bring him in to argue their cases for them. You cannot emphasize too much how important both opening statements and closking arguments are. If you find a good spokesperson who can do that, wh...

Re: Michael Avenatti

I apologize to the attorneys here for some things I wrote last year about their motives for comments about Avenatti. He turned out to be much worse than anyone thought. I wish I had not written some things I did. He has caused a lot of harm to his clients. He will pay for it. I think he did s...

If they continue to press her into next week, it's probably gonna force her out. I'm sure she'll land a nice paid gig with the 2020 campaign.
Or Fox News.

I think his desire to delusional fantasy to arrest, try, and execute President Obama under the UCMJ might have come into play.

Re: LEAVE Brexit Vote: Leave EU Thu 23 June - Market and US Election Impact

It appears the EU has agreed upon an extension until October 31. Halloween is appropriate. https://twitter.com/JenniferMerode/status/1116106841417834496 Tory Brexiteers will hate it since this means the UK will participate in the EU parliamentary elections. (Unless Commons agrees on a withdrawal agr...

At some point, you'd think the decision on extensions, when they're leaving, and how they're leaving will be out of the UK's hands. EU is not going to wait forever.
That could happen this week. Macron is fed up with the UK and May's shenanigans.

Re: LEAVE Brexit Vote: Leave EU Thu 23 June - Market and US Election Impact

I may be misremembering, but I thought that the EU Commission has told the UK that there is a negotiated deal on the table (the one Parliament keeps voting down), and that the EU is not interesting in re-negotiating a new deal. :snippity: I don't recall where I read it but I think the EU has said t...

I wonder what would happen if one of the options was to rescind the article 50 declaration.
It's one of the options I believe. If it passes May will ignore the vote. She has already said as much.

I wouldn't say they did. They got the earlier end date they wanted to fit with the EU election cycle.

I watched a video a few weeks ago that predicted the UK will end up with a no deal Brexit. They compared the situation in Parliament with the Prisoners Dilemma. That's what seems to be playing out.

Re: LEAVE Brexit Vote: Leave EU Thu 23 June - Market and US Election Impact

May is such a joke. She gave Parliament the middle finger for two years when she was negotiating the exit agreement with the EU and now when she can't even convince many in her own party to support it she wants to shift the blame away from herself where it squarely belongs. She is an idiot.

In Nunes' case it is because of fealty. In Avenatti's ca...

67 is required to override in the Senate. If my math is correct the House would require 292, even accounting for the vacant seat in NC-9.

I'm glad to see Clifford has figured things out and got another attorney. I feel sorry for the federal employee who leaked the SAR's to Avenatti. He screwed himself by being stupid. Clifford and Trump's attorneys are probably the smartest people in this mess.
