Re: Gay Rights - LGBT - Same Sex Marriage

One of the things we dump into our water supply resembles estrogen. Many years ago Texas criminally insane prisoners had their semen examined, counting sperm. The methods are suspect, as is the sample. (The first count of chromosomes in the human genome, from the same population, was wrong by two.) ...

Re: Headed off for the hospital

I also have balance issues. In my case the cause is clear. The major nerve involved in balance passes between the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae. In spinal stenosis that passage is compressed, leading to occasional pressure on the nerve. This is correctable surgically. I am concerned about the same th...

Trump does not look compassionate or sympathetic. He looks angry more than anything else. How dare these people look to his government for help?

I would vehemently oppose the appointment of Joe LIEberman as ambassador to the United Nations. He cannot see large pictures and thinks only in terms of Israel’s needs and wants.

There is yet another reason for speaking and writing at FDR's level. Many Americans have English as a second language. Not all can handle it at the high level they handle their native languages. They also deserve to hear and read.

I am trying to build up our future leaders. Except for wizards of Wall Street and Silicon Valley, that price is a bit steep for people in the early stages of their careers. In other words, I have faith that Hillary and Bill can shape ideas and lives and want them heard.

Hillary and Bill will do a multi-city speaking tour after the midterms. Their stated aim is to reunite the Democratic Party. Live Nation will sell you a ticket for between $70 and $699. If the couple wishes to have a productive impact on the future, let them speak with people under age 35. And don’t...

There are ideas that Nikki Haley has expressed and some actions that she has advocated (e.g., Iran nuclear and Human Rights) with which I do not agree. However, she is closer to what Andrew Sullivan (and I) have been advocating as Oakeshottian conservatism thsn anyone else now in the Trump maladmini...

As I recall, there was bipartisan controversy from the start about the establishment of what is now the third-'largest Cabinet department. ICE is the largest law-enforcement agency in all government. I view DHS and the PATRIOT act as panicked responses to a situation that was unparalleled in America...

The "Department of Homeland Security" was embedded in legislation that threatens American rights. It always struck me as semi-Fascist. I agree those agencies ought to go back where they originated -- abd probably be reduced in size. Some do belong in DoJ, others maybe in Commerce. FEMA might do perf...

It is hard for me to see the taking of asylum-seekers' children as anything other than a form of punishment intended to frighten future asylum-seekers. I detest Stephen Miller so thoroughly that I would be happy to attribute this policy solely to him. That may be correct, akthogh I do not understand...
