Twice Impeached Lame Duck President Trump
There’s an article in the Daily Mail (yuck) headlined “Biden charters plane to DC after Trump REFUSED him government jet”. https://twitter.com/acosta/status/1351635847427321862?s=21 I don’t blame them for not trusting a plane arranged by the current admin. It would need to be disinfected, and there...

Twice Impeached Lame Duck President Trump
Will they take away his Hollywood star? SAG-AFTRA isn't in charge of the Hollywood's Walk of Fame; the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is. The chamber's position is that, because the walk is a registered historic landmark, it cannot remove anyone's star. I can understand that, but too bad. But could ...

All the President's pardons
Just heard Andrew Weinstein on MSNBC reminding us that presidential pardon powers are "broad" and opining (I think) that the president can pardon himself. This reminded me that a long time ago -- before the #repeachment -- I was posting about the above the law thingy, and fierceredpanda k...

IMHO, If "this particular statement is in the public interest," the President has plenty of ways to deliver the statement that don't involve Twitter. Before Trump, it would have seemed ludicrous for the President to deliver statements by Twitter. I hope Biden relies on Twitter much less.

I hope that when he boards Marine 1 the last time to leave the White House, he turns back and waves like Nixon did, in a fashion that can be replayed for all eternity as the perfect punctuation mark signifying the end of his presidency. And then I hope for a Ford when he disembarks AF1.... :daydrea...

Impeachment #2
IANAL, but I don’t think that the Constitution allows the Senate to delay or dismiss an Article of Impeachment referred to it by the House. They must have a trial and vote. Sorry Lindsey. If a majority of the Senate votes to dismiss, it is over. 2020 was essentially a slow-walk dismissal. * * * As ...

Would that issue be decided by a vote of the Senate or would SCOTUS rule? Yes. The Senate will do what the Senate wants to do; it doesn't need SCOTUS' permission. But, if the repeached lame duck is convicted and barred from future office, and nonetheless attempts to run again, then it is likely SCO...

It has been reported that the Republicans in the Senate may argue that a President no longer in office cannot be tried. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/01/12/once-trump-leaves-office-senate-cant-hold-an-impeachment-trial/ Would that issue be decided by a vote of the Senate or would SCO...

All the President's pardons
Of course Trump is going to pardon himself. His rationalization: What's to lose by doing it? If it works, he's shielded from his crimes. If it doesn't work, he's in no worse position than he is today. It’s hard to argue with that logic. Zero downside and an impediment to prosecution as an upside. T...

Looks like he has broken the ties with impotus, does no longer fear the twice-impeached. Too little; too late. He may be reading the tea leaves of the GOP and believes that Trump and his supporters will no longer play such an overwhelming role in internal GOP politics. That, I think, would be a goo...

Presidential Approval Polls 45: 2017-2020
Maybe Democrats shouldn't rush for a Senate trial until more information comes out. The worse it is, the worse Trump's approval numbers and the more likely the Senate will be willing to convict and then vote for banning him from running for office again. I don't think his approval rating will get h...

True, the gains are mostly made.
But I think it’s a mistake pointing out how stupid they are. They might catch on. Maybe they might. Maybe.
ETA: Any chance?
