Re: Michael Avenatti

I apologize to the attorneys here for some things I wrote last year about their motives for comments on Avenatti. He turned out to be much worse than anyone thought. I wish I had not written some things I did. He has caused a lot of harm to his clients. He will pay for it. I think he did som...

Re: Jeff Sessions

The elf is coming to town! AMHERST — Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions — an early supporter of Donald Trump who later drew the president’s ire — is scheduled to speak Wednesday night at Amherst College. The event is open only to faculty, staff and students of the college. The organizers, t...

Sure, but with Trump setting the bar, Avenatti could still run for President.

Re: Michael Avenatti

Avenatti is actually making Michael Cohen look good! On his Twitter page (recently re-opened to the public so he can threaten his clients who want their money), he's thanking all his followers who are giving him the presumption of innocence. Which is something he never gave to Cohen. (Apparently Ave...

Re: Mueller's investigation

Don't forget Manafort sharing Trump campaign data with Konstantin Kilimnik. Or Jared and Camridge Analytica's collaboration. There's a lot of evidence of agreements to collaborate and share information and meetings of the minds on the timing of the release of information, both of which constitute cr...

Re: Mueller's investigation

Mueller wussed out. First, he failed to reach a conclusion that Trump comitted crimes in volume 2 of the Report. Saying that this is not his job was contradicted in volume 1 of the Report where he said there was no conspiracy with the Russians. I don't know. if the line of reasoning is that he can'...

Re: Michael Avenatti

Orlylicious - Avenatti's strategery was "Let's have a cup of Tully's coffee . . ." But now the company is bankrupt, so that won't work any more.

I bet Avenatti gets a lot more prison time than Trussell, too. But, unlike Trussell, Avenatti hurt a lot more people, and hurt them more significantly.

Re: Michael Avenatti

The humdrum monotony of prison will be excruciating for Avenatti. Which is why I believe he will try to make a dramatic escape. Either from the United States or our mortal coil. When he's locked up or gone the world will be a safer place. Too bad that most of his victims will never obtain justice fr...

Re: Michael Avenatti

I don't buy SF's description of Avenatti as "stupid", certainly not in the sense that birthers (for example) are stupid or similar. Everything fits more with psychopathy than stupidity: Avenatti probably could work out the consequences of his actions but preferred the thrill and excitement of playi...

Re: Michael Avenatti

Avenatti, like most cons, thought he'd get a big score, pay everyone off, and everything would be OK. He got a $454 million verdict in the Kimberly Clark case for defective surgical gowns (although no patient ever got hurt from them). I've always thought he was pretty much a dope with a handsome fac...

Re: Michael Avenatti

I am in court waiting for my jury verdict. Good luck! I tried a case that lasted the entire month of February. It was a court, not jury, trial, and we are still waiting for a verdict. :happydance: :winner: So, I received a decent award but it's subject to mandatory doubling and if the jury finds ma...

Re: Michael Avenatti

I was concerned about Avenatti's ethical compass when it looked like he was making decisions in cases based on his political interests. I had no idea, that the set of accusations bubbling up from below was this catastrophically bad. I don't think anyone could have predicted that there would be this...

Re: Michael Avenatti

If he can't afford a lawyer, I think that pretty conclusively means his financial victims got screwed. Well, a receiver has been appointed over the remains of his firm's known assets, and it may also be that his access to personal funds has been made difficult. IMHO, his best move is to go White Br...

Re: Michael Avenatti

I have a thought. As MikeDunford and others have noted, the USA in SDNY moved with lightning speed to indict Avenatti. I suspect one reason was to get ahead of the reveal Avenatti was threatening as part of his extortion scheme. But I think there was another reason, too, that fit in with my criticis...

Last year a wise man wrote: I find the love affair the left is having with Avenatti as amusing (and, quite frankly, as pathetic) as the love affair that the left had -- for a very short time - with Edward Snowden. Re: Fire!

So, don't get excited. I just wanted to come on the Board and thank everyone for thinking about me during the Woolsey Fire. I was fine. The animals are fine. I was evacuated twice and then went to Charlottesville for 8 days for Thanksgiving. The worst part of the fire for me was not being able to st...
