Re: President* Trump - *Impeached

As various people on Twitter have noted, it isn't even the actual county-by-county map from 2016. (Most of Alaska's tundra, for example, voted for Clinton.)

So the fake president's security blanket is also fake. Unsurprisingly.

KIRO-FM [AP]: Lawyer says prosecutors intentionally scuttled Bundy case : Prosecutors deliberately scuttled the 2017 trial of a Nevada rancher and several others involving an armed standoff against U.S. officials, so the government shouldn’t be allowed to revive the case, an attorney told an appeals...

Flynn's motion.

Executive summary: the government's new recommendation for possible prison time means it breached the plea agreement.

Re: USA v Michael T. Flynn; USDC for DC; False Statements to FBI; Guilty Plea

Such tremendous bullshit. He pleaded guilty over two years ago, still hasn't been sentenced, and now he wants to withdraw his plea because Sidney Powell is a crazy person. The standard for post-acceptance, pre-sentencing withdrawal of a plea is "a fair and just reason." Over/under on whether Powell...

Re: SENATE: impeachment trial.

4) White House files suit in federal court to quash the subpoena just like McGahn, Mazars, and the Kupperman litigation. Wouldn't CJ Roberts have to rule on it in the Senate trial first? And wouldn't that render any suit in a lower court moot? Short (WAG) answer: no and no. The impeached president ...

Re: SENATE: impeachment trial.

The one caveat is that courts can push to the top of the pile cases that are time sensitive. SCOTUS, for example, ruled on Gore v. Bush within 40 days of the first lawsuit being filed in the trial court.

"Can," of course, is doing all the work. A court isn't obligated to expedite.

Can you have a trial without witnesses?
At the Big Dog's impeachment trial, the witnesses' depositions were videotaped, and the Senate reviewed those. No live witnesses.

95% Approval Rating in the Republican Party, a record. 53% Approval Rating overall (can we add 7 to 10 percent because of the Trump “thing?”). Thank you! Even Rasmussen (the poll preferred by the impeached president's sycophants) doesn't have him at 53%. (Well, it did -- for one day in September.)

Does executive privilege even come into play in an impeachment trial? (Yes - I know - Senate makes up the rules - but will the Chief Justice approve) Even assuming there will be witnesses (hint: there won't), say the House managers subpoena someone, who then blows it off. House managers make a moti...

Yeah, I get that. But this guy said "next week's trial."
I think it is just sloppy writing intended to connote that the proceedings will shift to the Senate next week.

I also would not be surprised if the "trial" began and ended next week.

The House will transmit the impeachment articles to the Senate next week.

Then, soon-ish thereafter, at the "trial," the Senate will vote to acquit/dismiss/not be bothered. (Collins will be "concerned," but nonetheless vote with the majority.)

Steyer and Yang are rated as "reachable," i.e., they reasonably could qualify.
