Somebody testified that they lost 3 million but they forgave him. Frankly, I just don't believe it. Have these people been vetted?

Re: What are you watching on TV these days?

Britbox has brought back Ripping Yarns! Not the best series frankly, but it was written by and stars Michael Palin and Terry Jones so fans should give it a try and the episode "The Testing of Eric Olthwaite" is one of my favorite bits of TV from the 70's. If like me you are vaguely dissatisfied with...

The speech is from Sept, 2018. I remembered the line about corn and soybeans. There isn't a speech by him that isn't worth listening to over and over.

Just paging through TPM and saw McAleenan Out After Just Six Months As Acting DHS According to the New York Times, McAleenan had made his displeasure with the administration’s tone on immigration known, angering Trump’s allies. By the same token, he took fire from Democrats for barring immigration f...

Re: Another thing Rob Menard doesn’t know anything about. . .

Giving is an act. Dead people cannot act. Therefore people who die and leave their estate to charities are not being generous and are not 'giving' anything. I don't think we'll be using that in a Leaving Your Legacy publication. As arayder mentioned, people may have wealth but not a current capacit...

"Glitch" on Netflix. People (six or seven) rise from their graves in the fictional town of Yoorana, Victoria, Australia. The people come from all parts of Yoorana's history which gives scope for a lot of the history of Australia to poke in. The first episode name drops Thornton Wilder's "The Bridge ...

Well, that's a fine example of NYT reporting. Hunter wasn't "employed", he was on the board (along with a few Rs). And the case wasn't being investigated. Biden wanted it investigated, the prosecutor wasn't doing squat. And I love the use of "former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr." as if you migh...

In most of the articles I've skimmed, there's been a paragraph or standalone sentence that says essentially, "There's no evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens." At least that's being pointed out. Just the phrase "There's no evidence of wrongdoing by X" is enough to set off Trumpers. It's too weak. T...

Martin Geddes is sitting in London. He's got his own problems with Brexit; maybe that's why he's pissy. Anyway he just sounds like he's trying to move Qanon into a new phase of delusional.

My point was the wall is the thin end of the wedge. The intent is to militarize the whole border,a la Great Wall of China or Hadrian's wall. Forts every mile or so.

I'm not so worried about the environmental impact of the wall itself, but are there any famous walls that worked that didn't have guards stationed along them? And guards mean roads and barracks and I don't know what else. This seems just the beginning of Stephen Miller's dream.

Oddly enough, I seem to remember them trying this, several times, they called them the CRUSADEs, ALL of them ended badly, in blood and fire, and lots of yelling and pain and death. This is how I feel too, but I thought the reason to delay was that it will go nowhere in the Senate? Lots of grandstanding and cries of "Poor Donald". What has changed?
