Re: What are you watching on TV these days?

I've been watching "Young Sheldon" since its debut. Last night, Mary (Sheldon's mother, played by Zoe Perry, Laurie Metcalf's daughter) had a crisis of faith when a young neighbor died in a car accident. It was an amazing episode; this show has a wonderful cast.

The new "Murphy Brown" was a pilot, which means it will get better. What amazed me is how good everyone looked; it's hard to believe it's been 20 years!

And Hillary Clinton did a great job as "Hilary Clendon"!

Re: Kavanaugh hearings: Avenatti casually tossing bombs

I was going to stay out of this, but I changed my mind... My initial view of Avenatti was pretty much what Reality Check said: "Avennati gets through to the average voter. It isn't about winning or losing a motion before any judge on the finer points of law." I'm probably the average voter. I'm not ...

Re: Aging - it's not for fraidy cats

A couple months ago I posted about my father having memory issues. (He's the one that asked if he should go to the bank to get some traveler's checks for a trip for his brother-in-law's funeral. http://www.thefogbow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=9940&p=981606#p981606 if you're interested.) BBC America has been playing a lot of their "Planet Earth" series lately. I've noticed they're including a lot of drone shots, which are especially effective in the "Blue Planet" (ocean) episodes.

Re: 2018 Tennessee Governor; Primary August 2

Diane Black was endorsed by Trump. And she lost. This is promising.

After a heated Republican primary ("I'm the real conservative! Really! Not him/her!") with TONS of personal funds spent by several of the candidates, Democrat Karl Dean lacks name recognition, but I'm sure he'll start his ads now.

I'm reading lots of conflicting reports about the schedule of rescue attempts.

I know enough about cave diving to know how dangerous it is for experienced divers, much less someone who has never put a regulator in their mouth. This is really terrifying.
