James Drury, the cowboy from "The Virginian", at 85:

I never met him but know several who had; he often went to cowboy fan meet-ups. I've heard he had a great sense of humor and was always gracious to fans.

Re: Corona Virus Whackadoodles, Whackjobs and Conspiracy Theories (other than from the White House)

In a comment to one of the "biznews.org" stories (where the Pat Robertson and Michelle Bachman stories were), the commenter said it's a satire site. I don't see anything on the site confirming it, but it is the "BS news".

Re: Non-Famous People who died from COVID-19

I don't have a link - this was mentioned in the comment thread on another site, and I can't remember where. But someone said their friend had lost both his mother and stepfather, and both had died alone because they had been put in isolation. I find it incredibly sad that people can't be with their ...

Yikes. This from someone I know personally. Screenshot_20200317-185732-122.jpg Wait. In response to the bars being closed? That seems extreme. She's a bartender. That's how she pays the rent. From my niece, who works for Sazerac and promotes their (liquor) products: If you are a bartender, bar back...

Here's an interesting web site - you can zoom on the map and click on the red spots and get details of the confirmed/active/deaths from COVID-19 https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html?fbclid=IwAR1XZ0_NBB1Azvhv11CsBvmK3D0j7wAuFBRTeZGMAgcLMSoWp50bIJTw36g#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 ...

Re: On a Personal Level--Coronavirus COVID-19 Cancellations, etc.

I was going to my first hockey game on Saturday. Oh, well... I spoke to my mom (89) about letting me go to the grocery for her. She said she would let me take her and let me do all the "touching" and pushing the cart, but she still wants to go. But she told me "I'm not going to Walmart until this al...

Re: USA v Roger J. Stone, Jr., USDC-DC, Obstruction, False Statements, Witness Tampering

Neither Roger Stone's lawyers nor his "jury consultant" bothered to look at the prospective jurors' social media. Malpractice. Even little ole me, I check out the prospective jurors' social media and everything else I can find out about them in my cases during the lunch break. I do that instead of ...

Re: What are you watching on TV these days?

I'm watching the limited series "What's Eating America" on MSNBC Sunday nights. It's hosted by Andrew Zimmern. The first episode was about how immigrants contribute to our food planting, collection, and distribution. The second was about how climate changes is affecting the food chain. I don't know ...

I was on another phpBB board and got banned during a session when I was opening several browser tabs. (I tend to go to a site like this and open 3 or 4 browser tabs, read and close the pages, then open 3 or 4 more). The banning happened while I was opening the tabs. The techie guy from the board sai...

I believe this scene with Kellye Nakahara is from the first episode of the last season of MASH - "Hey, Look Me Over". There is another scene where she berates Hawkeye for the way he treats her as "one of the guys", but this scene will make you cry: https://twitter.com/ClassicMASH/status/122304123645...

I crawled away, getting my leg untangled. It felt like it was on fire. I dragged myself into the hallway and lay panting for awhile before I pulled myself up and tested the leg. I didn't break it, but it would have served me right if I had. The calf is swollen to the size of my thigh, thanks to a c...

Re: Aging - it's not for fraidy cats

I've posted a couple times about my father - a couple years ago he asked me about getting traveler's checks for a hotel stay, and has been getting more and more forgetful. This morning my mother called me. She said he had sworn her to not tell "the girls" (I have 4 sisters) but he was at church with...

My mother says "they'd cut off their nose to spite their face." I guess I don't have that cutthroat attitude that a politician needs, but I'll never understand why a candidate needs to disparage someone from their own party. ESPECIALLY for this election! Just tell me your platform.

For 100 grand each place Iran could easily find some people to pour half a gallon of butyric acid into the central A/C of Trump properties. I worked in a plant that used butyric acid and butyric anhydride to make plastics for car interiors. It smells AWFUL and it's almost impossible to remove the s...
