Re: Hijack this thread

Not just jury duty - you were summoned to serve on the GRAND jury. Just like Terry Trussell, yay! Hay, you could indite Orly Taitz for TREASON . Or Trump! Next time he visits LA, "Lock him up! Lock him up!" I like it! Sheesh, a little chemo, a little immunosuppression, and ...

I received a summons for federal jury service today: You have been randomly selected from the records maintained by the Registrar of Voters or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to serve as a prospective Grand Juror for the United States District Court, Central District of California . Re: Aging - it's not for fraidy cats

I'm now dealing with rashes on my arms and sides which appear to be a reaction to the chemotherapy. Prednisone and a cream called Triamcinolone Acetonide were prescribed and seem to help. On the plus side, felt well enough to go out for only the second time in months to a place other than a medical ...

Re: Please Report Problems Here

Not surprised. No worries, and it's probably for the best. If I ran the circus there would be an "are you sure?" warning step, but I don't expect that many others would care. Thanks for the quick reply. Many decades ago I worked on a newspaper publishing system. Something common back then was that ...

Oh, and Sugar: In the midwest, they will use anything to fill a pastry. We'll pretty much use anything to fill hand pies too (boudin, anyone?) but poppy seeds are not usually used as a main ingredient. Poppy seed filling was a common ingredient in the pastries* my Bubbie made, as well as those in t...

As 2018 closes, and the tumult of the year moves into our rear view mirror, one question eclipses all others: Towel dry inside the shower, or outside? Argument for inside the shower: The floor stays dry. Argument against inside the shower: The towel gets super wet. Argument for outside the shower: ...

I just got off the phone with Woodworker and his surgery went well. They apparently replaced his blood with morphine and he is in no pain. He should be out of the hospital this weekend, hopefully in time for the UCLA/USC game. I expect he will be back on the Fogbow in just a few days.

Re: Hijack this thread

Yesterday I had my periodic visit at the ophthalmologist. I expected to get another injection of Eylea in the eye for my macular edema, but the doctor said that the edema had reduced, and that I didn't need an injection this time. She thinks that the steroids I had been given for my pinched nerve as...

https://twitter.com/SpinDr/status/1061030480143773696 This may be a silly question, but don't they do contraflow up there? While not in that photo, northbound lanes were being used to allow fire and law enforcement to get to the fire area. I saw a TV report from PCH where there were about a dozen f...

Today when my neighbor was driving me to my post-hospitalization doctor's visit, a highly decorated bicycle pedaled past us in the bicycle lane. I didn't have a chance to focus on the decorations, except for one thing - a banner saying "Infowars" above the rear wheel.

Re: Headed off for the hospital

I'm home! Got conflicting information on the heart blockage. The internist who discharged me (and I wish all things bad upon) gave me a very frightening diagnosis which I won't even repeat here. The cardiologist said I have one blocked artery, another partially blocked, but no heart damage. The port...

Re: Hijack this thread

Given the physio bent of the recent posts, I guess my accomplish was losing over 10 pounds in the past week. The IV diuretics given in the hospital are mostly responsible.

Still here but probably will be discharged today (even though I’m not quite ready)

Thanks for the info, qbawl.

They’ve decided that I can be treated medically for the blockages. I’m being transported back to the Woodland Hills hospital this afternoon from kaisers Main Los Angeles hospital. If I understand correctly, I’ll be talking to the cardiologists there.

Vic. Are they making you wear the boots that squeeze your feet every couple minutes? Man I hate those. How are your IV sites? One nurse last week was an absolute butcher. She was trying to put one in the back of my hand, but she couldn't find the vein if it shook her hand The bruise has just faded....

I had cardiac catherization this afternoon. The past two months have been bad news but maybe not as bad situation. If it weren’t for ...

They’re transferring me tomorrow morning to another kaiser hospital where they will do a cardiac catheterization around noon. Depending upon the results they may perform treatment at the same time such as a stent. Currently there are no tests which showed significant problems but there are some anom...

Re: Headed off for the hospital

Nothing much to report yet. Lots of tears most involving radiation either emitted or injected or breathed. a few bits of good news - no pulmonary edema zone no longer taking heparin; not dehydrated so off saline IV. The IVs were problematic because I have this tag that says fall risk and I have a bu...

Shortness of breath has been developing over a month or so. But the other problems could be due to chemo which started on the 12th. The diagnosis is extramedulary plasmacytoma but they are treating it as though it were multiple myeloma.

Have (some of) the Fogbow become birthers? Some publisher's PR person erroneously wrote that Obama was born in Kenya, and we don't say it was Obama's fault. Some HR person attributed Native American ancestry to Warren and it's her fault. Obama includes his Kenyan heritage in what makes him who he is...
