Re: Mueller's investigation

I think one absolute certainty in all that is that his lawyers are totally in the dark and that LaRump hasn't been even remotely honest with them, for one thing, I don't think he is even capable of doing so. The new lawyers haven't yet learned the lesson that lawyers for him did in business: always...

Re: Trump - POTUS Tweets and Social Media

If Trump said there were 57 states, the news stories would point out that he was very nearly within ten percent of the actual number, and we should make allowances for his background being in business instead of the swamp. And then people would ask us to explain why those stories don't make a valid...

Re: SCOTUS: Kavanaugh Nomination Hearings, September 4 2018

Ms. Feinstein has been sitting on this letter since last summer? Why would she wait so long? Desperate last-ditch effort to derail Kavanaugh's appointment? For better or worse, politics is pretty theatrical, so I would expect congresscritters to play such games since ones who do not tend to get rep...

Foggy - good point. What Cohen wants is a specific remedy - recision. But if the contract is void, it’s a nullify.

At the very least, this surrender should be subject to terms, such as attorney's fees. If Stormy voluntarily dismissed under FRCP 41, Cohen and "Dennison" would demand no less.

Re: Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels v Donald J. Trump aka David Dennison, U.S. District Court, Central California

This is what I was remembering (Docket entry 17): MINUTES (IN CHAMBERS) by Judge S. James Otero: ORDER DENYING PLAINTIFF'S MOTION FOR EXPEDITED JURY TRIAL 16 . The Court DENIES without prejudice Plaintiff Stephanie Clifford's Motion for Expedited Jury Trial Pursuant to Section 4 of the Federal Arbit...

Re: Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels v Donald J. Trump aka David Dennison, U.S. District Court, Central California

Question: How does this status report jibe with Cohen's answer (and Trump's answer, if he filed one, though IIRC, he didn't.) IIRC, hasn't gotten that far. It's (still) currently awaiting the disposition of a motion to compel arbitration. I'm looking back through this thread, because IIRC, the judg...

Re: Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels v Donald J. Trump aka David Dennison, U.S. District Court, Central California

Perhaps you should give Stormy Daniels the credit she is due for being a smart, savvy woman. She has fully stated her motivations in public: to hold Individual-1 accountable. Accountable for what? Accountable for having consensual sex with her? Accountable for having Cohen pay her $130,000? Account...

That may or may not be true - neither of us has any way to know her motivations. But it's unquestionably true that Avenatti is trying to use his client's still-pending case as the basis for a Presidential campaign. Are you seriously good with the legal ethics of that? Perhaps you should give Stormy...

Problem is that the birthers were wrong about where President Obama’s was born ( and the motivation behind why he was born where he was born :liar: ). Foggy is right about the hush money contract and the motivation behind it). :rotflmao:

He’s running for comfort to his cheering supporters on the campaign trail that still wear MAGA hats and chant for him “Lock Her Up… Lock Her Up”! That's his crack cocaine, he sucks up courage from those crowds and their chants, it's like he feeds off them and it makes him confident and bold enough ...

She knows something. Either that, or she wants to give the impression of something nefarious. I seriously doubt that. Note that Kavanaugh tried to weasel out of answering. At first he said he'd only discussed the Mueller investigation "with other Judges." If that were true, he wouldn't be slitherin...

I wish The Hill had indicated who made the motion and in what context. It matters. I suspect the prosecutors made the motion to prevent Manafort’s attorneys from arguing selective prosecution.

So we’re back to that? Because defamation is state common law or state statutory law, you dumbbell. Also, first amendment. Also, truth is a complete defense. That is kinda the point. He likes how the UK handles libel, where truth is not a complete defense and printing factual information can still ...
