Re: White House Impeachment Response Strategy

After weeks complaining about the House holding hearings in the basement SCIF, now there’s some GOP Senators who want to have Bolton’s book made available in.. the Senate’s basement SCIF. Oh, they want the book instead of Bolton? I know this is not a court of law (far from it) but the book i...

Re: SENATE: impeachment trial.

I saw an article on NBC News or CNN that said viewers were tiring of the impeachment hearings. I guess ratings are down. No, the reason people aren't tuning in is that those of us who were rapt last week couldn't stomach IMPOTUS's defense team. We'll wait and hear the talking heads summarize it for ...

Re: New Diseases

Update: I'm feeling much better. I've only taken 2 Tylenol at 6:00 a.m. today, and my temp is running normal or in the 99.X range. I went to a 7:00 a.m. meeting and stopped at 2 stores afterward and didn't get tired. Then I wrote a brief. No problems. I'm going to take a short nap because I have to ...

Re: SENATE: impeachment trial.

Trump speaking out about what "wasn't said" to Bolton this morning surely waives any claim of executive privilege. I don't have much faith in the GOP Senators voting to hear Bolton's testimony, but yeah this is entertaining to watch. :yeah: If Trump wants to be heard, show up and get sworn in. Edit...

Re: Plane Crash - Jet Crash

With you, W4. Little things. There's something to be said for having a "grab bag" of those essentials for when disasters occur … but they're essentials because they're needed and used so can't be stuffed away in a bag all the time. And as far as the plane goes, it would make sense to have your pass...

Re: Barack, Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama Post Presidency

Can you imagine IMPOTUS doing the audio of any book? It would take him years to do enough takes to get it right. And even then it would sound stilted and boring.

According to Wikipedia (I have not looked elsewhere to confirm it) Kobe actually owned the helicopter which crashed.
Maybe he was the pilot then?

Re: Rest in Peace

Clay Ferraro@ClayWPLG ABC News report says Kobe Bryant's four daughters were believed to be on board the helicopter. No words. NOT CONFIRMED Also, that seems unlikely because the reports are that 5 are dead and there are no survivors, so the pilot has to be one of the 5 I sure hope his daughters we...

Couldn’t finish the story at V’s link -kept hijacking my phone for surveys, thanks - but an LA Times story today says 1confirmed case in Orange County (🤫 Disneyland) and 18 being tested. Soooooo . . . I have some kind of weird illness going on. Fever spiking as high as 101.3, starting at 4:00 a.m. this morning which comes down to 99.X with Ibuprofen or Tylenol. Fever-related chills and aches when the fever is high, but otherwise not. Very tired. No other symptoms. No suspected infec...

Re: SENATE: impeachment trial.

So what is the justification for getting the new Williams evidence in, if they aren't allowing anything else? Or is it because they had it in the House? They originally had an ageeement to enter the House record into evidence. The memo was the one item they couldn't enter because it was classified....

Re: UPDATE: Advice requested on brief language -- IAALs and IANALs welcome

A non-update update. The appellate court has still not issued its opinion. Oral argument was September 11. I am taking that as a good sign. It doesn't take long to affirm. I've seen opinions issued from this court as quickly as 2 weeks after oral argument. OTOH, there was a case last year that invol...

The problem with Sekulow's response is that there is no ethical issue unless there is a conflict of some sort to waive. Dowd initially represented Lev and Igor because they wanted to keep them from squealing.

Schiff was outstanding. Right does matter, or it's supposed to. I hope that at least 4 Senators were moved by it.

It's too bad that almost half the country will never see this, and that even if they did, they'd crucify him for supposed wrongs fed to them by propaganda.

FYI, I'm also trying cleansilver. It's arranged a little differently, but one nice thing about it (in the absence of Active Topics) is that the top bar stays visible when you scroll down. So when you click on your avatar, you can click on Active Topics without having to scroll all the way back up.

Exactly. I don't like the "both-sides" approach, either.
