I hate to disappoint y'all, but it looks like the final winners are Alice and Asta.

Why yes, Asta is a dog's name. A very famous and clever dog from detective fiction.

That's why I like it. Where ol' Wifehorn got Alice I have no clue.
It's only a dog's name if you call her Skippy.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Haven't heard back from anyone about sewing machines for sale that I found, including a Janome for $100. I did see an antique Singer (106 years old) treadle machine for $100. Tempted. It's identical to the machine my Grandmother used to make clothes for the family when my mother was growing up. But...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Just found a White sewing machine (Model 1855) for $50 on Craigslist. Sent an email hoping it's still available. It looks very sturdy and high enough to shove a rolled portion of a quilt under the main body of the machine. Good price. Seems to be a good machine? Yes? Yes! For many years they were t...

No one seems to care anymore about the bottom-feeding hypocrites munching away at Democracy. Unless, of course, they’re Democrats. I’m more incensed by the day at what happened to our most reliable, effective liberal, Al Franken. In comparison to what we know about Republicans, his offense is as ab...

Liquid Benadryl is the recommended topical after washing with hydrogen peroxide. I use Solarcaine aloe ve...

Try the Press'n seal instead of saran wrap. The stuff will cling to your skin without having to wrap it all the way around to stick to itself. I used it on a burn on the back of my hand and it worked great. Enough stick to stay on but not enough to pull skin away. Cut a chunk big enough to have sev...

I love that layout Jez! A couple of suggestions if I may....Check your local stores that do sewing machine repair for used machines that have been traded in or never picked up after repair. Well, I'm not an attorney, but if I wanted to go after a big fish company I'd probably be looking around to hire someone who knew the inside workings of the company. I'm guessing a former attorney and VP for that company would fit the bill.
