Re: What are you doing to stay sane on your Staycation?

I have *that* recipe, except I sub Wild Root Gin for the whiskey. And the juniper in the gin compliments the flavors in the tomatoe soup. So, you wouldn't have to throw it out if you didn't wanna.

Yes, and it's for this reason I keep suggesting that we all treat each other with increased kindness and consideration. People here are suffering who aren't willing to share about it, possibly because we keep seeing comments about how other people are "full of shit" or lack the qualifications to co...

Me too, and these stories won't stop anytime soon.

I was reminded that unfortunately, reality states if you are well today, it just means you were not exposed and infected two weeks ago. Everyday is the first day of another two week cycle until we get past this.

Re: On a Personal Level--Coronavirus COVID-19 Cancellations, etc.

Proving we will "all know someone" before this is through, both of a coworkers parents died over the weekend. Born and raised in NYC, his parents retired to Long Island to stay close to his adult siblings, and all their extended family throughout the greater NE area. His father fell ill first, and w...

Re: Corona Virus Whackadoodles, Whackjobs and Conspiracy Theories (other than from the White House)

I'm going to stick with "Evil conspiracy to make us buy new phones we don't really need" as my final answer. There was a time when a T1 with 1.5mbs was a fat pipe. Now, it's not even considered a sippy straw. All infrastructure is a gig minimum, and the downlink demand by phone users goes up every ...

Any knitted fabric (if it stretches, it's knitted) is not recommended because the nature of knits is that it creates gaps between the fibers as it stretches. That's what allows it to stretch.
Got it. Thanks!

I read today, but cannot recall where — DO NOT USE SPANDEX! The virus stays active on spandex longer than any other fabric. That would be interesting to find out if it's a good recommendation, or internet hyperbole. I'll do some looking. These scrunchies are great when you're trail riding to cut do...

Re: On a Personal Level--Coronavirus COVID-19 Cancellations, etc.

None of this is perfect, but if you can keep the stuff being shed by people contained, that's a good thing.. less to spread, less to have to filter out with the real N95 etc masks. But I'm an engineer. That is the concept - capture it at the source. Regular speech has small amounts of spray and spl...
