Re: When Trump loses 2020 and refuses to accept the results…

I think if/when? he loses 2020, we will see a serious uptick in domestic violence. I think he will leave but not before he fires up his base in retaliation.

Re: Pete Buttigieg 2020

Mayor Pete may be the most talented candidate in the field. And he'll be around for many years after this election cycle. Right now it's just too soon. But I can see him as POTUS in 2028. I would vote for him. Early and often. Stern, I may be misrembering, but wasn't the same thing said about Obama...

I've started watching this instead of the morning news. The same information as a Trump tweet and no commercials.

My, oh my! "Republicans and non-hispanic whites". So old Wilbur and the Republicans got caught with their panties down. It wasn't like we didn't know the Republican party was racist organization. I guess now they will have to go back hiding under sheets to plan strategy instead of memos and emails. ...

Wow! Any moons ago when I was 16-17, I visited my grandparents in FL every summer vacation. A girlfriend and I would go to The Lime Tree INN on Siesta Beach and hang out because they never "carded" and you could lounge on the white sand and drink by the Tiki Bar. One Sunday two strange.dudes dressed...

I listened to the first episode of S-Town and was intrigued. Then, it began to take so many unexpected twists I ended up binging all episodes. I never expected ANY of the wild revelations, ever. My favorite podcasts are: Pod Save America Stay Tuned with Preet (Bharara) This American Life RadioLab Wa...

When I was working in Fallon, NV, I noticed that the liquor store carried 190 proof Everclear. The owner explained that the ranchers and shepherds in the region would carry it and they had plentiful water sources to dilute it. My grandmother claimed to keep Everclear to treat her bunyons. It is som...

FRP, certainly no attorney would admit that. But did you watch the trial? Aside from the unlawyerky behavior and first-year law school mistakes, Inger clearly huddled with some unsavory characters who contributed to the shit show. TT had terrible representation and terrible advice throughout. Whethe...

I don't think he had all his marbles in his older years. He could not have spent 70 years on this earth and not gotten into trouble several times in the past if he had a lifetime attitude of which he had toward the end. He was taken advantage of. All it proved was that he ended up getting a life se...

TT (as I like to refer to him) could have continued his little retired life in the Cross City area as "the egg man", pontificating to locals who are used to crackpots. To be fair, many are crackpots. He could have enjoyed the rainy, moss-soaked season which turned into the dry, windy Summers and the...

I don't know what to say except it is all sad. However if his wife and daughter can find any solace, it might be that he was clearly enjoying the adventure. Less than one year ago, on his 75th birthday he wrote: "All things considered, I am doing well; I am where God wants me to be - how could I not...

Re: Julian Assange loses extradition appeal at Supreme Court

A friend and I are having a discussion about Aasange and extradition. Friend say he can be charged after extradition to the US with additional charges under the Budapest Convention and face the death penalty. I say under extradition agreements that is a no-go.

Any experts say yeah or nay?

Re: Hijack this thread

If you enjoy the convenience of a gas grill, but miss the added flavor of woodsmoke, the solution is to prepare a simple wood chips smokebox. I also like to save onion and garlic husks, freeze them, then when I am grilling, I add them to my water-soaked wood chips in my aluminum smokebox tray. I lea...
