Re: USA v Roger J. Stone, Jr., USDC-DC, Obstruction, False Statements, Witness Tampering

The DOJ reversing its own sentencing position, and all of the government's counsel on the case subsequently withdrawing is extremely unusual. I suspect the judge would like the Department to explain itself, because she won't be thrilled with the idea that the Justice Department is actively seeking ...

A competent contractor would have braced the fence for several days to let the concrete cure.

But we aren’t dealing with competence.
Yeah - even if the fence doesn't blow over, you don't want it wobbling in the foundations and getting loose.

Re: New Diseases

There were also other random epidemics and outbreaks of disease in those centuries. Henry VIII of England became king because his older brother, Prince Arthur, had died of a disease which might have been the "sweating sickness" (might have been something else, such as tuberculosis). This disease has...

Poor Rachel: the Texas Eastern Gas Project accident was the massive explosion of a huge (then the world's largest) liquefied natural gas tank in 1973. What a horrible thing to grow up with.

Still doesn't make going up with the Kraptain a Good Idea.

Re: Rural cops routinely encounter violence related to anti-government sentiment

Letting closed groups follow their own rules while they don't affect ordinary society has its attractions, especially if it's a bunch of crazy men acting out Wild West mythology. But, as your tale relates, they will impact others sooner or later. And what about groups, such as quasi-religious cults,...

Applying the P&E/birther style of argument, it's reasonable to assume that Joseph DeMaio, Mike Zullo, Carl Gallups, and, indeed, Sharon Rondeau are running a pedophile entrapment ring and that they have multiple convictions for this in several countries. Of course, they can produce eblidense to refu...

A white man actually violently assaulting a woman is less threatening than a black boy walking the street (Trayvon Martin)?

What absurdity is it when the District Attorney is affectively the public defender of a very violent rapist, further attacking the rapist's victim?

This is disgusting.
