Re: Anthony Williams, Private Attorney General

Well Lars' request to exit the case and AW's request to delay the trial were both denied. Here is the current trial schedule: Jury Selection will begin on Monday 2/3/2020 at 9:00 AM Trial Days: Government 11 days Defense 10 days 12 Jurors and 2 Alternates Time allowed for opening statements: Governm...

Re: Anthony Williams, Private Attorney General

I agree, but in this case the prosecution submitted a motion in Limine to prevent AW from giving a narrative and only doing a question/answer statement. I can't see the judge disagreeing with that given all that AW has done to date. The question I have is if Lars gets his request and is removed as h...

Re: Anthony Williams, Private Attorney General

IANAL, but the suspicion I have is that the conflict is that Lars knows that Anthony will commit perjury when he is on the stand.

What are the options here? Delay the trial?

Re: Anthony Williams, Private Attorney General

I am still trying to understand why he thinks that his defense will take 25 days  . I can understand the prosecution taking 12 days because they need to explain exactly what he did, and how he did, it to the jury. IANAL, but I am expecting that 90% of his time will be taken up by him fighting...

Damm, reading all those new items definitely made my Thanksgiving even more fun! My absolute favorite is his motion in limine (653_2): 8. Re: Lawyers Behaving Badly

Wow, Judge Seibel really laid into him: Seibel said this was when the lawyer “made the decision to tell an outright lie” in an effort to “intentionally deceive the court.” “I question Mr. Liebowitz’s fitness to practice,” Seibel said at one point during the hearing. Referring to the “multiple lies” ...

So it appears that Soon-to-be-disbared attorney Richard Liebowitz did have death in the family... It was his maternal grandfather, Jaime Radusky. Re: Lawyers Behaving Badly

Short summary: Lawyer misses a status conference and tells the court that it was due to a “Death in the family”. Judge has reason to doubt the claim and asks for proof. Lawyer doubles/triples/quadruple downs on the claim but does not provide any evidence. Now, after almost a month of $100/day fines ...

Best line in the article:
During the deliberation, Second Circuit Court Judge Jon Sogn received just one note of question from the jury, which inquired as to whether Bruce had their names and personal information.
We now get to enjoy his appeal based on that.

Re: Sen Jeff Flake (R-AZ) Takes Down Donald, Won't Run Again "I Rise To Say: Enough"

A simple solution is to run jungle primaries, randomize the list of candidates and remove all party affiliations from the ballots. The races where these people are declining to run again, they could put (R) beside a grilled cheese sandwich and people will vote for it in the general. I'm in favor of...

Jeffrey, For sake of the argument, let's say there is both an "alt-righ"t and an "alt-left". Of course, when found Guilty as charged, they will wonder where god is. After all, their "god" is all about them and not Justice. Most religions have a "Persecution/Martyrism" clause, don't they. No "true" prophet arises without being persecuted at some point and eventually martyred. LDS even had t...

Riding horses on paved streets can be dangerous. When I have done so I've had borium splashes put on the horseshoes in several spots. They "grab" the pavement. H/T to rpenner... IANAL, but that reads like a real smackdown of Cox to me. Even more so when y...
