That video is really hard to watch. As a member of a family with long ties to the military it really hurt to see this person disrespect the oath. Good riddance, they don't belong in any form of service.
I didn’t watch the video. The still photo was nauseating enough.

Re: Military Mischief

Dumbass sergeant takes the oath of enlistment with a dinosaur puppet on her hand. Dumbass colonel lets her do it. Sergeant loses her full-time (I'm assuming civilian) position with the TN Air National Guard, and faces other administrative sanction. Colonel gets "demoted and immediately retired" (thi...

Re: Michael Cohen

Mr. Trump made the call seeking advice from Jay Goldberg, who represented Mr. Trump in the 1990s and early 2000s. Mr. Goldberg said he cautioned the president not to trust Mr. Cohen. On a scale of 100 to 1, where 100 is fully protecting the president, Mr. Cohen “isn’t even a 1,” he said he told Mr....

Re: Abuse of the Pardon Prevention Act - 2018

I just wouldn't go so far as to be "certain" that Congress would find a presidential pardon -- even a really, really crappy one -- to be a high crime or misdemeanor, as noblepa seems to suggest. This article quotes James Madison: There is one security in this case [a misuse of the pardon power by t...

Re: Abuse of the Pardon Prevention Act - 2018

I see a pretty high separation of powers hurdle for such a law to overcome. It seems to me that the entire reason for such a law is to attempt to intimidate Trump into foregoing his inclination to pardon his associates who might be witnesses against him. That is clearly an abuse of the pardon, but ...

Sure. But if you were asked to provide a list of your current clients, would you include this person? I might. It would depend on the nature if the conversation. But, would the mere FACT that this person was a client be subject to privilege? Certainly, the subject of any communications you had with...

Re: Abuse of the Pardon Prevention Act - 2018

So if Trump decides to pardon someone out of the blue, there's nothing for Congress to review and the pardon goes through. I can see this could become ripe for abuse. It’s no less ripe for abuse today than it was when the Constitution was ratified. True, And he cannot pardon someone for a crime tha...

Re: Abuse of the Pardon Prevention Act - 2018

I don't see it that way. The act has no affect on his powers. He can use the pardon as he chooses. It just means that some information that DOJ might possess, which is restricted from release by Federal statute, is no longer restricted from release in certain specific instances. So if Trump decides...

This happens sometimes: People call me. They’re thinking about hiring me. We talk a little bit about their case. They end up not hiring me. I would say that their communications with me were covered by the attorney-client privilege. They might say I never represented them, they never paid me, never...

Re: Sean Hannity - dumbass

The one time I consulted a lawyer, I got a bill. I don't think I've ever been able to call one for random advice without the clock ticking. (That's not a complaint, just the way it is. I don't ask doctors for freebies either.) This happens sometimes: People call me. They’re thinking about hiring me...

I don’t think any of the articles mentioned whether her seatbelt was on. Probably not if they were at the point in the flight where the WiFi kicks in, as one man said. Poor woman. :brokenheart: That’s terrifying. We’re deciding this week whether to drive or fly to Asheville NC for vacation in July....

Re: Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels v Donald J. Trump aka David Dennison, U.S. District Court, Central California

Looks like the odds were higher than I thought. Still. If random people from the Internet can make this connection, you would think Daniels’ lawyer would’ve been able to. And rather than engage in the theater of the sketch, he could’ve just shown her some pictures. At that point, she could’ve eithe...

Re: Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels v Donald J. Trump aka David Dennison, U.S. District Court, Central California

We discussed this a few days ago. There’s an SAR. Avenatti wants it, and filed a FOIA request. It’ll be denied. There will be public gnashing of teeth. He might take the Office of the Commissioner of the Curremcy to court, where he’ll lose. I think the agency which received the SAR (to which any FO...

Re: Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels v Donald J. Trump aka David Dennison, U.S. District Court, Central California

Any Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) is going to be both highly confidential AND unlikely to have been raised in this case. Alas, an apparent reimbursement of funds for apparently legitimate expenditure by an allegedly legitimate political organisation is unlikely to trigger SAR reporting . Apparen...

Re: Mueller's investigation of Trump

I was under the impression that States can charge the sitting President for crimes but cannot try or punish until he or she leaves office. Anyone know for sure? :sterngard: ? Never been attempted, as far as I know. So if go with "nobody knows for sure." I agree that nobody knows for sure. I would a...
