Sounds like he had a pretty bad stroke, and won't be coming back easily from it. Hope he has some semblance of a good recovery. Me too. Much as I want all of these people to face the consequences of their own stupid choices, and enjoy the schadenfreude when those consequences actually come about (w...

Happy Anniversary to the 520s!

I’ve got music tomorrow. One of our Folk Club members passed away, so we’ll be doing a zoom memorial for him. I’m really sad; Dave Hurd was a really great guy and a good friend. :brokenheart:

Re: When Trump loses 2020 and refuses to accept the results…

States can (but apparently aren't required to) force electors to vote for the winner of the popular vote, so says the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Monday that a state may require presidential electors to support the winner of its popular vote and punish or replace those who don...

"a new, far-left fascism" ... So is Antifa going to change its name to Profa?  I had the conversation with a right-wing friend recently. She was blathering on about antifa. I played dumb and asked what antifa stood for, and she said “anti-fascist.” “So you’re for fascism?” There a...

Re: June Medical Services v. State of Louisiana - Abortion

Offtopic, but only kind of. I’m seeing a lot of posts on social media about how awesome Roberts is by legitimizing his Court through the invocation of stare decisis. But that’s a double-edged sword. You can’t really have a conversation about stare decisis without talking about McKleskey v. Kemp . In...

Have I violated HIPPA? I received a call from my mother's senior living facility telling me they have a worker who tested positive for Covid 19. I shared this information with others who have family members there and who have not been advised. There are no names. Simply that a worker has tested pos...

This may be a place to put this rambling thought I've had for quite a number of years. If policy is to not prosecute a sitting president because he's so busy and has so many responsibilities, why not just make it policy to extend the statute of limitations to cover whatever time the president can o...

Meh. It only delays the prosecution of trump for six months. Nothing to see here, folks. It would be a hoot to see him try to pardon himself, though. Upon losing the election, he could resign before the end of his term and Pence could then pardon him. It would end any other further political ambiti...

His whole defense of the pee tapes was, “But I’m a germaphobe!” COVID-19 is likely way worse than anything one might catch from a presumptively healthy hooker’s pee. So I’m calling BS on the germaphobe defense to the pee tapes.
