Re: All Dogz Worthy
Sorry for the sad news, but I made the difficult decision to have my boy Spartacus euthanized this past Saturday. He has been on arthritis medication for several months, and last week his legs were unable to support his weight. He was a “good boi” for the past 15 years. There wasn’t a person or anim...

Re: "We haven't disappeared; We're just traveling."
In Costa Rica for the week for work. I got here Friday night, so my coworkers had some tourist activities planned for me: a (dormant) volcano, a shortened tour of downtown San Jose (rain), Carara National Park, and a trip to a beach on the Pacific Ocean. I thought their attempts to kill me with acti...

Re: Cycling
My cycling ebbs and flows. I rode heavily from 1993-1997, participating in five Houston-to-Austin MS150s, 170 miles over 2 days. (I finished four, had the flu the first year and only finished 80 miles). My next phase was from 2010-2012, in which I rode (and finished!) six different 100 mile rides. P...

Re: Austin Water Troubles
On Sunday mornings I make coffee for after the church service (18 pots!). We'd heard the boil notice would be lifted later on Sunday, so we decided to go ahead with making the coffee. Below is a typical conversation about said coffee: Coffee drinker: Did you boil the water? Me: No. CD: Did you use b...

Re: I'M RETIRING. GOODBYE SUCKERS!
I need to start a variation of this thread titled, "GOODBYE SUCKERS, I'M GETTING MARRIED!" And in the thread I'll paste (minus the links) the e-mails I've received from "women" (scammers and porn sites) who have looked at my profile (never saying which profile) telling me how cut...

Re: Fake online reviews - sneaky & creepy
Glassdoor is an online review site for businesses in which current and former employees critique the work environment of a company. Prospective employees will go read a company's reviews to gauge what kind of work environment they might be getting into. If you read through the reviews the fake posi...

Re: What are you watching on TV these days?
Finally got around to watching season 4 of Sherlock.
Meh. Episode 1 was OK, lot more about Mary than anyone else. Episode 2 was very good, with a villain based on Jimmy Savile. Episode 3 was disappointing. It seemed like it would be a good story (no spoilers), but it just didn't click with me.

Re: What are you watching on TV these days?
A few months ago I was bored and looking for a show to binge. On Netflix I found 2 seasons of a Ukrainian show called The Sniffer. It's about a consultant for their federal police that can "Sherlock Holmes" a crime scene based on the smells. Most of the plot was preposterous, but I found i...

Re: At The Movies, comments and reviews
Went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 3D yesterday afternoon. JK Rowling has succeeded in starting a new franchise based on a few minor characters mentioned in the Harry Potter series. There will be five movies in this new series covering the period 1926 -1945. Because of the info ...

Working my way through season 1 of Luke Cage. The Netflix superhero shows seem to move at a slower pace, but the acting is very good, and the music and location shots are excellent.
