Re: Gavin Seim

Theoretical question... does the Mexican military owe the Seim family any protection? They're not citizens, and possibly not even there legally. Perhaps they'd expect payment. I'd love to see the look on Gavin's face when he discovers that little aspect of Mexico, because he clearly hasn't yet. The ...

I've actually looked at Australia's Skilled Worker scheme, but you've got to be under 45. I'm just on the wrong side of that.

Yes, a lot of countries have investment incentive schemes. Let's just say I don't have the kind of funds that approach requires.

Re: Gavin Seim

Just mentioning that Barack Obama had Dual Kenyan citizenship till he was 21 without being aware of it. Most countries have laws like this. I think it's meant to be a backup citizenship, in case birth doesn't confer citizenship some other way. Countries don't want people to be born stateless, thoug...

Re: Canadian Freemanism Spirals into Xenophobia

This story has nothing to do with Robert Menard, freemanism, or xenophobia. If anything, the government of Quebec is taking the xenophobic position, by making a law against religious symbols. But it seems like a straightforward legal tussle, and out of place on a sovcit forum.

Re: Gavin Seim

Agreed. I have also not noticed any mention in the MSM reporting I have seen regarding why the family/sect members are even in Mexico in the first place. My bet (given their history) is that they went to Mexico to evade US law enforcement, in furtherance of the crimes they sought to commit that wou...

I figure that gen pop in a medium security facility gives him an increased chance of beatings or a shiv in the kidney, so I'm okay with it.
Now THAT is the kind of therapy Mr. Cox needs.

True. I’m not sure I get the judge’s feels for him, given his current social media and the fact he hasn’t changed at all.
Same here. I thought he'd come down in the middle of the 188-238 range, not the minimum.

See, doom and gloomy.
Schaeffer didn't win, he just covered the spread. If less than total success makes you gloomy, expect to gloomy. It's not the worst outcome. He's still going away for five more years, and the poots didn't get what they wanted.

Re: The Trial of Schaeffer Cox - GUILTY

188 months minus 104 already served is 84. Knock another 15% off for good behavior and you get 56. So less than 5 years to go. Pretty damn lenient, especially since the judge didn't buy any of the horseshit the defense was selling.

Re: The Trial of Schaeffer Cox - GUILTY

According to the defense filing, Cox has been in jail since March 2011. Any time served pre-trial, that would count towards completing his sentence. By my math that's 103 or 104 months total.

And a wild thought. Would people on this side of the fence be open to very supervised release with mandatory counseling and weekly home checks to make sure he isn’t buying weapons and a 1,000 yard restraining order for the wife? Absolutely not. He conspired to kill government officials, acquired il...

Re: The Trial of Schaeffer Cox - GUILTY

Cox kinda painted himself into a corner with all those blog posts the prosecution collected and submitted. 25 of them I think. Any attempt to show remorse now might ring a little hollow, so maybe he decided to let his lawyer do all the talking. Not the worst move IMO.

@LtnDansLegs: From what I've read, the original sentence was vacated, and an entirely new sentence must be drawn up for all the charges. They don't start from the prior sentence and subtract points that no longer apply. It's possible this judge could have a completely different idea of how many mont...

Official Victims enhancement: KJNP...no names of victims. 6 point enchancement Gone. 2 Points on Schaeffer is a leader so that does apply. Left with 35 level...2 point history....
