Re: Hijack this thread

Fireworks! Holy cow! Neighbors in and around this neighborhood must have decided since they couldn't go on vacation this year, they would spend it all on fireworks. We have had hours of them, some of them nearly non-stop. There are still some going on two hours later, but from about 8:30 PM until no...

Yay, Lani! But also hope you do better soon.

And I finally got a haircut yesterday. Not nearly as interesting as Lani's news, but big for me!

They only care if it costs them an election, or the House (again) and Senate.

I tried talking her into the new one, but she doesn't like the colors.
I assume your young granddaughter's iPhone will have a (very!) protective case on it. At that point, the color of the iPhone is moot.
She doesn't like the color of the surrounding color on the front!

Re: Phones. Whatcha got?

I have the iPhone 7, fairly new, but I'd like to look at the new phone when I feel like I can get to an Apple Store. My soon-to-be-11 year old wants an Apple phone before she goes into middle school next semester. She has been saving allowance to pay for a 7. I tried talking her into the new one, bu...

Re: President* Trump - *Impeached

It's the Fourth of July. Couldn't he at least wear a casual jacket, no tie? He looked like such an idiot. I was thinking about how much more casually and appropriately the Obamas would have been dressed for that type of occasion.

Re: Ronapalooza 2020

I caught the beginning of it on MSNBC, which only did loose coverage. It was appalling. I couldn't believe how he started it. The only good thing I could say about it is that he's talking to a smaller and smaller audience, and I continue to believe he can't pivot no matter who gives him that advice.

I just learned that Gustav Borglum, the Mt Rushmore sculptor, was an active KKK member, thus adding another level to the objection to IMPOTUS’s visit. He may not be an actual member but he’s certainly made his biases known. I knew the history of the land-taking of the Sioux sacred mountain and the ...

That was powerful. I also saw Schmidt do that on another program.

Even after more than 40 years, it was hard for McDonnell. It clearly brought back hard memories.

Can you imagine President Obama (or President Biden) calling, say, Chris Hayes for advice??
No, but they'd likely get a lot better quality of advice.
