Curtains

I am making lined curtains, 8 panels. They are just the kind that wraps around the bar at the top. I find them challenging, believe it or not. My biggest problem is that no matter how much I measure I cannot get the lengths to be correct, either between the 2 panels of one curtain or even the length...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Hi Sugar, no offense taken. As always, I highly value your information. I don't understand why metal cannot be in the masks, please splain me 🤔. Who used to say that on TV? Anyway, I wore bonifide surgical masks on an almost daily basis when I was doing eye surgeries and they had a piece of bendable...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

The best way to handle the bridge of the nose is by sewing a pipe cleaner into a small tunnel you make over the top of the mask in the section which corresponds to the bridge of the nose. It,is important to close this area because if you don't, 🙊air can enter and escape pretty easily on each side of...

Re: New Diseases - Coronavirus

At Last Veterinarians are being recognized for the professional people they are and for the fact that we could contribute to the "war" effort. The governor of Colorado ,a wonderful guy, lifted the mandate that vets could only do emergency surgeries during this time e.g.no elective surgeries. That wo...

Re: New Diseases - Coronavirus

You just call Walgreens and if they have. Your script they will fill it and you can pick it up or they will call you doctor to get the prescription. Both our Walgreens and Kroger have drive up windows and you don't have to go in.

Re: Horses! and other beloved 'farm' animals

I a man a firm believer in treating animals as well as if not better than other people. We need the punishment fit the crime and this neglectful owner should be hung up by his/her toes. My good friend was diacipliining her daughter for capturing their cat and putting it in the garbage pail with the ...

I hope she is all over her little cold and is feeling great. I live in a house about 75 yards from the nearest other house with just my retire...

Has anyone been listening to the NPR podcast of Bundyville? If so is it good, accurate, biased? I know that I am behind but I just discovered it. Thanks.

A Hi all I don't know how to post an original post so must do it under "answer ". Sorry. It is appalling to see how undervalued handmade goods are in this society. Re: What are you reading lately?

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. This is the second book I have read written by her and I don't like it any better. The way she writes in this book this drives me crazy I.e. Jumping from one person's narrative to the next. I just like to sit down and read a story or history without having...

This is my new project. Please forgive the poor photo quality. I already gave it away so I can't rephotograph it.

What is the best place to buy vintage fabric replicas on line? Do these cost more than regal cotton print fabrics?

Thanks

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

I agree that kit quilts should not be entered into shows. Can't it be written into the entry rules? What do you think of putting printed designs in quilts as to their eligibility? One of the winning quilts has a vase of flowers in the center which I suspect the quilter did not piece. I made a kit qu...

Yes, the BOM quilt is on the website Fort Worth Fabrics. It is called Summer Picnic. It began when I was making my other quilt so I copied the instructions weekly, did not peek at the end and am making my weekly blocks weekly. It is fun.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Hi. I finally finished my queen-sized quilt and it is out for quilting. It is not very good but was a labor of love. It was with me through 2 chemo regimens in one year. It was made with hands that often won't be still. I am diving right back in and making a "mystery quilt". You make one block patte...
