 yes, and I have never understood why we support oil over life. I guess we are made of a completely different fabric.

Re: What are you reading lately?

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. This is the second book I have read written by her and I don't like it any better. The way she writes in this book this drives me crazy I.e. Jumping from one person's narrative to the next. I just like to sit down and read a story or history without having...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

We had a roadrunner on our tree top when we lived in Tucson. Now we have a crow.

This is my new project. Please forgive the poor photo quality. I already gave it away so I can't rephotograph it.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Hi

What is the best place to buy vintage fabric replicas on line? Do these cost more than regal cotton print fabrics?

Thanks

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

I agree that kit quilts should not be entered into shows. Can't it be written into the entry rules? What do you think of putting printed designs in quilts as to their eligibility? One of the winning quilts has a vase of flowers in the center which I suspect the quilter did not piece. I made a kit qu...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Yes, the BOM quilt is on the website Fort Worth Fabrics. It is called Summer Picnic. It began when I was making my other quilt so I copied the instructions weekly, did not peek at the end and am making my weekly blocks weekly. It is fun.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Hi. I finally finished my queen-sized quilt and it is out for quilting. It is not very good but was a labor of love. It was with me through 2 chemo regimens in one year. It was made with hands that often won't be still. I am diving right back in and making a "mystery quilt". You make one block patte...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Wow, thank you for the information. I see what you mean about the fussy cuts. I guess that extra dollar was worth it. I can’t imagine doing so much work for $61. I will treasure the quilt and use it. There is a red stain on it that does not bother me much. I have left it alone so far but should I tr...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Wow, fascinating Sugar. Your enthusiasm is admirable and contagious. You should write a book and include pictures of all your endeavors . I did find out some information about the quilt I bought. It was made in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. I am still on the trail of its history. I think I can downlo...

Re: Vaccines for All - Vaxers vs Antivaxers

What astounds me is that people will not get the HPV vaccine for their kids. That vaccine is against papilloma virus. It is 70-90%. Effective in preventing cervical cancer. It does not cause many side effects. Only ignorant people refuse childhood vaccines for their kids ( in my opinion, which is a ...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Hi all I went to a church bazaar today. There was a vintage quilt in the silent auction. It is circa 1930s, twin bed, all hand sewn and quilted. It is in pretty good shape,a few places where the top is worn, and a bit faded. It is a grandma's garden pattern I think. Well, being unable to resist old ...

How is the colostomy bag working out? It is very inventive. I too have a reaction to the tape that they used to tape in my ports. I start itching like crazy and almost tear it off myself. How is your son? It sounds like he is pretty discouraged. Please tell him to hang in there. It does get better.

Re: Weather Alerts

Even the mountains of Colorado are hot but..1.It is almost always windy where I live which cools it down a bit. 2. I love hot weather (unless here is high humidity) On the flip side, the fire danger is sky high. My husband, dog and 3 cats were evacuated to a small hotel room fo 2 weeks in 2012. We a...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Cluboo

Hi all

I am making curtains to replace the horrible ones that were in my living room when I moved into my house. I love a beautiful cotton that is meant for quilting but I would want to line it with a light-medium-weight fabric. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi

We lived in Ecuador for 3 years and got a lot of birding in. My favorites were the grooved billed anis. So cute huddling along branches in the rain looking so forlorn.
