Re: Alternatives to MS Office

I have used Open Office for a couple of years and find that it suits my needs perfectly. As for not including a mail client, I actively oppose PC-resident mail clients. I simply use the web interface for Hotmail. This has (to me) the advantage that emails are not downloaded to my PC. I simply see a ...

Re: Colorado Pretend Judge Bruce Doucette + Pretend Grand Jury LARPers Stephen Nalty, Steven Byfield, et al.

There's always the possibility that Trump might decide that if he has the power to pardon federal crimes, then as Supreme Shitgibbon he surely must have the power to pardon all crimes, including state crimes. That would be interesting to see! I assume that any such attempted pardon would be ignored...

Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl

If Arizona is like other states, if VOP was a registered 501(c)3 and the owner transferred the property to VOP, there would be no taxes on the property. Here in Ohio, such a tax exemption is not automatic. The owner must apply for it and show proof that the organization is, indeed, tax exempt. So, ...

Re: Gavin Seim

It's part of Gavin's shtick to purposefully overstate the facts to the point of lying. His favorite reason for doing so is to make the U.S. look bad and thereby justify his flight to Mexico. But I doubt it's new behavior. My bet is that Gavin has been blaming others for his setbacks and failures si...

I know we supposed to be the good guys and not support acts of vandalism, but will there come a time where whatever board makes decisions on who gets stars decides it's not worth it and replaces the star with a blank piece of sidewalk? Re: Bills to Rein in Trump's Trade War Policies

:snippity: There is certain legitimacy in giving the president the ability to act unilaterally on trade in the event of a national security issue. Trump has wildly gone beyond any possible security concern. Congress needs to constrain that power and then begin to reverse Trump/Navarro’s actions. Tr...

Re: Persuadable Trump Voters - Who are they?

Another thing I've wondered about is the future of the Republican party. I'm a life-long Democrat, but I don't want to see a one-party system, even with the D's in control. Trump's base support seems to come from a cult of personality. They don't seem to understand or really support his policies. Th...

Re: Persuadable Trump Voters - Who are they?

Ever since the 2016 election, I have wondered if there weren't some Trump voters who were simply voting for "anyone but Hillary". I remember reading, after the BREXIT vote two years ago, that interviewers found quite a few voters who voted FOR BREXIT, as a protest vote, assuming that the measure wou...

Trust me, all you need to be is young and act politely interested, and guys - especially older ones - will tell you anything and everything as they try to impress you and keep your attention focused on them. Wonder what Randy Beane is thinking tonight. Heather is going down for the middle of the range on an enhanced offense level (Probation recommended level 22, judge went for the prosecution's motion to up it to level 24). If the judge does the same thing here, he's going to get 168 months, splitting ...

The current pair of 747's that serve as AF1 were delivered to the USAF in 1990. The paint scheme was designed by Raymond Lowey, the famous industrial designer. I believe it was first applied to the 707 AF1 that Kennedy used. But, it was not Jackie Kennedy who came up with the colors. Trump has claim...

Re: Cohen is ready to sing

Just as many believe that Trump has been using his pardons to send a message to potential investigatory targets that a pardon may be in the offing, if they just keep their mouths shut, perhaps Cohen is trying to send a not-so-subtle message to Trump; "At least promise me a pardon, or I talk". Yeah. Sometimes one claims it (whatever it is) is Obama's fault and the other claims it is Hillary's. Or vice versa.
