Indigo - downtown Dallas is not "complete chaos." The crowds are dispersing and there have been only a few incidents of damage to some vehicles thus far.

Re: Coronavirus: Food Supply & Shortages
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer showed up in the local Winn Dixie today. Lot's of it. I conclude that the manufacturing sector has adapted. Purell disappeared from the shelves about March 10. So fifteen weeks? We're refilling Purell pumps with booze - 80% ethanol from a local distillery. Ain't nobody ...

Like any number of posters here, you may have CPAP equipment. If you don't already have a routine for cleaning it START ONE. Aside from the horribly expensive cleaning appliances there are some reasonably-priced ozone generator devices for post-cleaning sterilization but if you can't afford one of t...

One of Mrs. Bean's older sisters was just admitted to a facility due to advanced Alzheimer's issues and as of this afternoon, her husband was advised that none of the family members will be able to visit her. It's a delicate balance - she's coherent enough to understand some of what's going on aroun...

Buttigieg. He's the only one that has a reasonable chance of defeating Trump. Bernie's beyond the looney edge of socialists and frankly he and Biden are too old and have been in politics far too long. Warren is an ivory-tower intellectual and Bloomberg is another politico who isn't going to be able ...

:snippity: Macy's is part of a growing list of brick-and-mortar establishments that have nosedived in revenue and popularity with the emergence of e-commerce companies such as Amazon and Walmart. Commerce moves on. The pony express didn't last long once the telegraph was established. Pay phones hav...

... I'm willing to bet that Iran's nuclear sites are very well protected and it's going to be damned near impossible for us to hit them. Oh, and Trump is a giant pair of loose lips... Ah, but the question is, what do they believe? Particularly after the most recent strike authorized by what they pr...

Something tells me that as usual, the media is straining to make it look like they have insight and especially knowledgeable sources into what is really going on. The administration seems more than happy to let the pot boil without letting anyone really know what is going on in the background. I can...

Don't understand exactly why but sticky rice that has been kept in the refrigerator for a day or two makes the best fried rice.

The Man in the High Castle is a good binge show, we're enjoying it :P Hadn't seen it and the final season is out so it's the full series. Enjoying it a lot - after getting caught up with the episode reviews. That's the problem with these series - if you wait for the next season you've kind of forgo...

Kaepernick was more than willing to jump into the opportunity when it vaulted him into the league and professional rewards and limelight. He and his agents/handlers knew the playing field was purely a business, driven to make millions (billions?) in profits for what amounts to be a media and team ow...

An older friend of mine still insists he is 5'10" and confirms it with saying he just had a checkup. He's 5'8 at best from my vantage point when I stand in front of him. Several years ago, I tested this shrinking thing when I was in my late 40s. Morning height marked on my bathroom door barefo...
