Re: Coronavirus Profiteering

Ok, we all know about Senators Burr and Loeffler. Locally, a man has been arrested for buying up all the N95 masks from Lowes and Home Depot and reselling at a huge markup. He's brunt toast now. https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/crime-courts/2020/04/01/anchorage-man-who-resold-face-masks-online-at-in...

So, looking at the USA graph, total new cases, plotted logarithmic Do I see a slight downward bend? A flattening out of the growth? https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ Here's a graph that presents the data in a way that's meant to emphasize when the exponential increase is abating...

The wife just called.... Trader Joe's is limiting how many are in the store at one time.
Our local food coop has been doing that for several weeks now. you have to wait in the parking lot a little while before you get in, but I appreciate that they're taking the risks seriously.

Re: Coronavirus Cancellations & Postponements / Travel & Events COVID-19

Yeah, all of these rescheduled events seem to be engaged in a lot of wishful thinking. In my opinion, there's almost zero chance of large festivals being held this year. Depending on the status of the vaccine and how regularly the virus mutates (and whether / how long we have immunity after infectio...

So, I really enjoy making my own tools. I seem to a have a particular penchant for making marking gauges. You can never have too many marking gauges if you're working with hand tools ;) Nice thing is that they don't take much material (particularly since I can't easily go out for new material these ...

Seims shit just disgusts me. I look. I read. And I do t feel good about myself, but I am being truthful. But what is awful is to read comments about the subjects of his posts and videos. Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

Did anyone decide if ponytail holders would work? I have millions of those. I can wash them to see if they'll hold up. Not the fluffy ones, of course, but the ones that look like wrapped elastic cord. My wife used some on some masks she made. They worked fine. Probably depends a bit on the pattern ...

This is a few months old now, but last fall the neo-funk band Vulfpeck released a video of their live concert at Madison Square Garden for free on youtube. It's fantastic, energetic, and infectiously joyful. If you're not familiar with their music, you should be. Give it a listen if you've got a cou...

If he does, it might be the most useful court case he's ever been involved in. I don't feel sorry for him, but I do feel bad in general about deplorable conditions in jails and prisons.
