Re: Cats!
This thread is making me sad. :( Now it’s just Coco and Grace, our teeny tuxie who’s 15 and more playful than a kitten. The girls don’t wander like the boys did so they can come out with me to do yard work. They’re back in by noon. Sigh. I miss my magnificent beast and wish I’d gotten better pictur...

Re: have you received your vaccine yet?
Operation Get Vaccinated is in full swing. Appointment in Bradenton is 4:15. I leave at 1:30 to allow time for routine delays. - I have called the CVS and they are allowing the public to use their bathrooms. - I have a beach towel and ice packed in case my vasovagal kicks in. - I have a sticky note...

Re: Hijack This Thread
A week ago last Thursday Mrs took a nasty fall in the driveway, and one good thing has come of it: she's eating again. She hasn't eaten more than a few hundred calories a day since Feb 2020. She's lost a lot of weight, and looks like a walking skeleton in the right light. She took that conk on the ...

Re: CPAC Conference 2021
55% of the most ardent Trump supporters is not impressive. Taking away Trump's Twitter appears to be working. Trump throwing out hints to Putin about how he can harm the United States is not a surprise. I have always known that Trump will do everything in his poser to prevent a successor of either ...

That was a really fascinating article from the NYT, so thank you for that.

Re: Cats!
Katy Kitty has been with us now for about a year. Katy is a patched torbie, was thought to be about 9 years old when I adopted her from Regional Animal Services of King County. I didn't realize it at the time, but I must have been one of the last people to adopt who didn't need to make an appointmen...

Re: Cats!
So now that everyone knows that this household LUVS their tortoiseshell and torbie kitties, it will probably come as no surprise that we have two current kitties who are either a tortoiseshell or a patched torbie! We adopted Luna from Regional Animal Services of King County November 15, 2017. My hus...

Re: Cats!
Another one of my kitties who is no longer with us, Alice was a patched torbie, adopted from what used to be King County Animal Control, now known as Regional Animal Services of King County. I don't know exactly when they changed, but RASKC is a no-kill shelter (exceptions for animals which are clea...

Re: Horses! and pets other than cats and dogs
Nice Paint. Ummm....nice halter/head collar. Looks like one by Weaver, with the throatlatch snap buckle. I like those, very sturdy and well made, and the throatlatch snap is really handy.
Should have had more of the horse in the photo, though.

Re: JOE BIDEN
Interesting. The shelters around here take their animals to the local pet shops and weekend festivals and art markets every weekend to try to get them adopted. They also have 'free time' (or whatever they call it) every day or weekend where anyone who wants to can come exercise the animals in the p...

Re: Cats!
We adopted Evie on April 27th, 2012. She was very shy, living in a foster home which was partnered with South County Cats. The foster mom didn't even think Evie would come out from hiding, but Evie went straight to my husband. As it turned out, Evie eventually became my 'elbow' cat. Whenever I read ...

Re: JOE BIDEN
Interesting. My experience in Houston was that there were always plenty of adoptable dogs and cats available. It's not that they aren't available, but many of them have stipulations such as 'must be only pet' or 'no other cats', which cuts down on the number available. A lot of them are also bonded...

Re: Cats!
We got AnnieBear in 2001, from what was then King County Animal Control. I had gone in, not really looking hard, but saw this beautiful tortoiseshell and said 'What a lovely cat'. Annie had a really badly kinked tail, and apparently this, plus her age (she was listed as being 4 years old, picked up ...

Re: JOE BIDEN
. @HoustonSPCA is directly across the street from the Harris County Emergency Operations Center. Their staff is hoping @POTUS will stop by to adopt the First Cat. I don't know about Houston, but here in beautiful Puget Sound, there are no shelters which accept walk-ins. Everything is by appointment...
