Re: Ron DeSantis Determined to Kill Floridians

People are not coming to Florida because it is not safe. The mother of one of my clients traditionally spends her summers in WA state, winters in CA. She's still planning on wintering in CA, but tells me that NONE of the Canadian snowbirds are at the winter mobile home park this year. The park is v...

With the cost of prescriptions, that $200 won’t go very far.
The prescription for my Prascend (speaking as Azastan, here) is $342 for 160 count blister pack.

But just stop asking these questions which just allow him to keeping alive his meme that voting by mail is ripe for...

Sounds like a cult to me. One of the oldest ticks in the cult play book is to break the ties the people they're trying to indoctrinate have with their families. We were beginning to have our suspicions of this; and by that I mean several of their activities were definitely not in line with Christia...

They are pretty common. I should add my comment was meant as "satire", and not a direct recommendation of their use in this application. They are meant to charge hundreds of feet of wire fence, and are painful but harmless to several hundred pound animals. But, for people they pose a "health risk",...

Fortunately for us in the PNW, we've had rain and it's done a great job of clearing the air. Get a cattle fence charger from the feed store. I have about five of those, including a solar charger. Oddly enough, at least in my neighbourhood, the only 'sign' is just one nut out there, who has his Trump flag hanging about 70 feet away from the street, obscured by trees. He also has a light-up ...

By the way, this is exactly what my sister in Seattle has done. In fact, I think she has two box fans set up this way in their house. I also think she has a furnace filter in the window where she has a window fan pulling in air. The problem now is trying to find those types of filters! Or box fans,...

Another interesting way to identify birds, especially waterfowl, is to listen to sounds made during flight. For instance, you can tell a broad-winged male hummingbird by listening for a high pitched trill made by the wing feathers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO_kR14BOsA Most rural people have h...

I grew up in splat-a-deer country, and I’ve never known anyone to drive off. Partly because deer tend to make dent, partly because you might get a tag for it and have some venison. Partly because any normal person wants to know what that big thud was. I've seen two calf elk dead on the side of the ...

Re: Fogbow Birdwatchers Club

The problem is these birds have more than one call and they have answering calls which are similar, but like a counterpoint call. Any Fogbow suggestions? Basically you want to concentrate on learning, really learning, the calls of the birds you hear all the time. For instance, here where I am, I he...
