Re: What are you doing to stay sane on your Staycation?

My nice neighbour built me a chicken coop last year because his wife gave me her extra chickens. There's only two chickens left since they got picked off by hawks, and now they refuse to live in the coop. That's ok, I have a barn and they now live in there. A couple of days ago I decided to clean up...

I have to wait to watch until I am farm sitting this week (I don't have cable TV, but one of my clients does and is going to let me spread coronavirus all over her house so I can watch).

Trump may have figured out how to make money from this.
I've been telling people that the DPA was activated, but not actually being enforced. And that the reason why was because Trump hadn't been able to figure out how to make money from it.

I deleted my post questioning that but then I realized I don't know if USPS is delivering medical supplies or not. I would guess they are. I do know our mail person has shown up every day on time and delivered and picked up. I happen to love USPS and am sick of his messing with them. My husband is ...

Re: On a Personal Level--Coronavirus COVID-19 Cancellations, etc.

I got in the habit of buying more because I didn't drive until I was almost 30, so I always wanted to have whatever I needed on hand. I shop sales. But my daughter and son-in-law and two kids shopped very differently. On one was home until a week ago all day. The kids were in school, so they didn't...

The grocery stores aren't going to close. Stop grabbing more of the pie than you normally would. Someone wiser than I pointed out that many people are buying more of the 'pie' than they normally would because they are now at home needing to cook for the family, rather than going out to dinner.

Monday my husband flew to Oklahoma. Tuesday he was sitting in class, and at 2 pm an announcement was made that the NEDC was shutting down and everyone would need to go home. Wednesday he came back home. So far so good. All that working with rescue horses seems to have been helpful in learning how to...

No change in traffic anywhere along the way. I live on a road which is not a busy main road. Gets maybe 40-50 cars per hour during the commute hours, and maybe 10 cars per hour the rest of the day. I've been sitting here watching out the window for an hour and not seen anyone go by. Traffic is WAY ...

That sounds exactly like false reassurance to me! More messing around, slightly more potential for distributing virus particles and no improvement in biosecurity. If you have open cuts on your hands it's different. But intact skin and proper hygeinic discipline do the job with less risk. Or do you ...

COVID-19 is making it easy to separate the introverts from the extroverts. The former are happy as clams, and the latter went nuts after the first three hours. I work on my computer, get my entertainment from my computer (except for tennis), and communicate using my computer. My life is shockingly ...

Horses still eat, so they still produce poop. I have a couple of young riders who come over every Wednesday and help me ride a few of the horses. I stayed well away from them today, doused everywhere they'd touched with some isopropyl alcohol, and had a good time. I'm going to paint the tackroom. I'...

My husband went to Oklahoma today, for a 2 week school. He debated about going/not going. I pointed out to him that if he, the guy who works in a large facility, comes in direct contact with an infected person, I would have to self-quarantine if he stayed here. But if he went to Oklahoma, I am the o...
