Amtrak train derailed just south of Tacoma, with at least one car falling off the railway bridge and onto I-5 southbound. I know this exit well--Mounts Road. Probably some fatalities, but no official word yet :( . It doesn't look good. http://komonews.com/news/local/derailed-train-falls-off-bridge-o...

It makes a difference to me because the community mailbox I’m forced to use is two blocks away - two blocks I don’t care to walk when the wind chill is a balmy -42 degrees. Two blocks that I walk and freeze my buns off when I suspect, but am not sure, my package has arrived. Yes, it shows up when t...

So all's well that ends well, thanks to the USPS employees who take their jobs more seriously than did the small town's municipal staff. Yay USPS! Many years ago, one of the mail trucks we'd sent out from Seattle was going to Wenatchee in the middle of a snow storm. Those of you who are familiar wi...

What made you go with a gargoyle gecko?

Even though I have two milksnakes and one kingsnake, I am not really up on reptiles (although I did successfully identify a photo of an immature Bald Eagle snacking on what looked like, and indeed was, a California Kingsnake).

The problem I see is he'd talk about himself for most of it, and the audience would forget who the schmo is who's running, especially at the House level. Several people are offering seditionist Moe and seditionist Bob money . . . when they get their next SS/government check. :eek2:
Is this where the sovcit movement will die? When Paul Ryan has his way, and Social Security and other 'entitlements' cease to exist?

I still don't understand why they didn't just rent a motel room by the week. You can get monthly deals, too. And not just a single room, you can get suites, etc. I have known many people who have done this when they are temporarily waiting for housing to open up, closing on a house, etc. There are ...

Politico Republican civil war erupts anew Prior to the election, McConnell told associates that he wanted to destroy Bannon politically, according to one person familiar with the Republican leader’s thinking. Their goal: to curtail his influence ahead of the 2018 midterms, in which Bannon has vowed...

It’s kind of comical. Gavin and family are not shy about showing their contempt for officer Canady, but if you look at the Facebook page for their carpet store and go to February 6th, there is a post thanking officer Canady for his act of kindness at 0900 that day. Oh how quickly we fall! Yes, I th...

If she's been barred from the premises, making her last day January 20th seems likely to be intended to let her keep her tax break. I'm not an expert in this area, but that strikes me as problematic at best, and enabling tax avoidance at worst. It does, however, confirm that she didn't leave of her...
