Poor Eric Greitens. He [edit: allegedly] ties up a married women, roughs her up a little, takes a picture and and threatens to out her to her husband, and it isn't even enough to get him invited on MSNBC.

They left out the worst part.

Social Security taxes are capped. Social security tax is 6.2% of the first $127,200 and nothing after that. So actively regressive.

k they have to be shown to have been "played the fool." I suspect some of the results were manipulated. In that case people had their votes changed . That will feed the anger of the voters. They were "cheated," not "played the fool." I think that still isn't going to upset GoPers unless they believ...

“At three o’clock, Jesus [Roy Moore] cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?’ which is translated, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’” (Mark 15:34; Matthew 27:46).

In the event that Roy's complaint gets a full hearing, I suspect that Trenton "Bless His Easy-Peasy-Lemon-Squeezy Heart" Garmon may be asked to explain how a state law that refers to state elections was violated. And maybe even why it's relevant to the complaint. And possibly whether he actually re...

Re: USA v Michael T. Flynn; USDC for DC; False Statements to FBI; Guilty Plea

Question to the IAALs here: what is the earliest that a pardon can be issued? I suspect a jury and/or judge must have spoken the guilty verdict. Can an early pardon preempt a trial (or plea deal)? A pardon can be issued by the President at any time. The only limitation in the Constituion is that he...

Sez the guy who reliably votes for Trump programs. Obamacare repeal and giant tax cuts for the 1% and corporations aren't Trump programs. They are mainstream Republican programs. They would have been proposed and Flake would have voted for them if Jeb Bush or Kasich had been elected instead. Just b...

What type of vehicle uses leaf springs nowadays? Gavin's camper might. Some heavy vans and trucks still do, especially on the rear axle. those are very, very junior leaf springs. Most they would go on is a little 5 x 8 trailer to tow your lawn tractor to the dealer. I agree, the ones on my Jeep Wra...

Getting a guardianship would be the path forward. The Public Administrator might be able to do that. That's where I would start. http://www.jacksongov.org/293/Public-Administrator edit: Public Administrators in Missouri are elected officials (except St. Louis City), so they are pretty service orient...

CHIP's Yes. It is a straight up money issue. It is cut and dried, you either give the states their money or you don't. You got tax cuts for your corporate overlords and rich country club buddies, then we want money for poor kids health care. The Republicans won't be able to use it as a bargaining ch...

I don't know if I ever saw someone who entered the military via a minor brush with the law. I saw people who wanted to enter the military and needed a minor brush with the law to go away so they could. Guys on probation were harder. For really minor stuff, we'd just discharge them and have to trust...

I doubt that happened. I’m not doubting you read it somewhere — there are probably multiple sources that say that — but “join the military or go to jail” has been a form of fraudulent enlistment since the 1980s. The military will not take people under those circumstances. I imagine the timing might...
