Re: Strange But Random Events In Your Everyday Life
Most random event I remember was 27 years ago. We were on vacation in Hawaii, 4,000 miles from home. It had been a long last day. We had been checked out, went to Molokini and snuba’d. Returned car, and caught flight to Honolulu. It was late, but we were early, airport was almost deserted. We rented...

:confuzzled: IANAL What is “MDPE”? I can’t find anything other than “Medium Density Polyurethane. I figured it’s probably something only IAALs would learn, and not need explanation outside of legal documents (like PHV?) Also why is this filing so intent on replacing “Democratic” with “Democrat” exce...

Had similar creases in photo in #819. Made me think of Seinfold episode w/ Kramer, Frank Costanza, and The Maestro playing pool. “The Doll” ( had to look it up).
Unfortunately that brings up an unpleasant mental image also.

Re: Coronavirus Anti-Maskers, Anti-Vaccers, Etc.
“ .. ya know who buys a lot of epensive hats?. Jewish men. Is it really surprising that manufacturers would take a dim view of their distributor insulting one of their major markets.” I never thought of that. But I’ve never been much of a hat person. Ball caps/hats always ended up back on my head so...

Re: Enron and other corporate fraud.
Back in the day I would create batch files for employee's PCs. Amazing what you could do with those. Anyway, we kept the *.bat files in a \batch directory. I considered having them, instead, in a \belfry directory. ;) If I still used.bat files, I would steal that idea to use to store secondary .bat...

Re: Enron and other corporate fraud.
I was reminded of Enron during the recent Texas cold snap.
Also, am I the only one who has an “Arthur Andersen” folder? Every computer I’ve used in the last 20 years, I’ve added a folder with that name. It’s getting harder to explain to people, as time goes on, the purpose of the folder.

Re: Rafael Edward "Felito" "Ted" Cruz - Flyin', Lyin' TX Tea Turd
Why does everyone take an instant dislike to Ted Cruz?
Answer: It saves time.
As much as I liked Al Lewis in Car 54, and The Munsters, I can’t shake the uncanny resemblance to FeLiTTTo.
Damn auto-correct

I have found also, in older homes, that a lot of times there is beautiful hardwood floors waiting to be refinished.

I don’t know how to post links, but I watched a clip from Trevor Noah daily show regarding FLTTT’s redemption attempt. He was helping a neighbor clean out their house that had sustained damage. The clip focused on him helping remove carpet and padding. In my years I have also removed carpet and padd...

Maybe it would have fit in “Truthiness in Posting Requirements”. Also, I must be slightly dyslexic, I couldn’t help thinking that “olderly”should be a word.

My first job was in a large USW foundry, a long time ago. Because of that I still consider myself a foundryman. I’ve followed the decline in union bargaining power be whittled away by mainly GOP policies. The unions need strong voices, that’s why I am glad to see you want to get into labor law. What...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Just wanted to say hi, longtime lurker. As someone else stated this site has helped me keep my sanity over the last several years as well. I’m awed by the level of discussions and have learned a lot.
