We usually go all out for Thanksgiving. Wait, I meant we usually all go out. Restaurants. Nobody has to travel, no stress. This year it’s the local Westin. 623AAB70-44C3-44F3-8FE6-DD183B430BDC.jpeg That sounds amazing! One week into a radical new low sodium diet which made cooking Thanksgiving dinn...

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. They mean the world to me. Back home from hospital and trying to wrap my head around a diagnosis of cirrhosis, especially since I’ve never been a drinker. But I plan on following instructions to a T, and leading as normal and useful a life as possible. I’ve had a...

Thanks for all the kind words. I love everyone at the fogbow. To say I’m freaked out is a huge understatement. And I know I need to stop googling prognoses because they aren’t helpful, I will fight this because I have too much to live for. But any good karma sent this way will be much appreciated. T...

It was interesting viewing from my office today. Second day back (we are allowing 20% of workers back) and my new socially distanced office looks right at Bethesda Naval. I figured something was going on when the first 5 military helicopters came by.

Ya know what else is being hoarded? Zinc. I had no idea until I buy it it. Amazon is backlogged. Other than a handful of very low dose zinc and multi-mineral combos, it's unavailable until late April or longer. Even the ones that might be available later in April will not reach the buyers until mid...

Is anyone else having a hard time remembering what day of the week it is? I'm retired and never had that busy of a schedule, but now it seems like all my days run together. Wednesday is garbage day. That's it. Even though I’m still working (but from home) I have no clue what day or time it is witho...

Hubby and I are enjoying our togetherness most of the time. Imagine if you will, a large, fluffy, exuberant dog who LOVES to socialize living with a small feline who has limits on her tolerance of social interaction. Put them in a house for two weeks alone. Shake and stir. Im loving the picture in ...

Our usual Friday night date night was a drive to one of our usual haunts to pick up dinner to go. They brought our food out to the car but we tipped as if we ate in. Next day we picked up our groceries from the Harris Teeter drive through then drove through our local dairy drive through for milk and...

Have any of y’all tried Shipt for groceries? They buy everything on your list, drive it to your house and leave it in the front porch with a text that it is there. All for $10. Tried it today and it was great. Had to make quite a few substitutions and if course no toilet paper but still worthwhile. ...

My husband is washing the car. It finally stopped raining here. He's a high energy guy and he's always happier when he is in motion. Did a grocery run on Monday, kind of. No toilet paper or le...

Interesting little side note about interest rates... 30 year fixed mortgages are actually higher now than they were a month ago. By a lot. Banks don’t seem to believe that what the Fed is doing is sustainable. I wanted to refinance but rates today are 3/4 of a point higher than our original mortgage...
