So cool! And the woman who flipped off Trump’s motorcade and lost her job was elected to the local Board of Supervisors. In the county Trump National golf club is located in. Hehehe

Re: All Dogz Worthy

The little things that break your heart... My husband is away (he left Thursday, won’t be back til early October). I had the Maybedog with me out at the cabin. We came back home this morning, and Maybedog ran in the house, ran up and down the stairs, stopping in each room looking for his buddy. May...

Re: I HATE HOSPITALS AND SURGERIES, BUT ... Gonna Be Putting up With Both For a Few Days

We are back home and realist is sleeping the comfortable sleep of someone sleeping at home and not attached to a million beeping machines. He’ll have to tell y’all about the possessed hospital bed that suddenly went haywire and began impersonating a bucking bronco, untouched with him in it. Nobody h...

He is STILL in recovery. Some issues with blood pressure and pain. May have to stay in icu instead of step down. Either way I’ll find a chair or a floor and be here with him. I do have a pillow and fluffy blanket

Realist will be able to talk all about the cool 3D pictures of his heart he has now and the super high tech Bluetooth heart app he now has. I only vaguely understood it.

Re: I HATE HOSPITALS AND SURGERIES, BUT ... Gonna Be Putting up With Both For a Few Days

Just talked to Dr. Realist is in recovery and will be moved to his room in an hour or two. Things went well though not quickly. I used my time here to make useful suggestions to the hospital staff. Like having toilet paper in bathrooms is a good idea. Little details that seemed to have been missed i...

Re: I HATE HOSPITALS AND SURGERIES, BUT ... Gonna Be Putting up With Both For a Few Days

They’ve taken realist back into prep/imaging/whatever else they are doing so I won’t really have a clue what is happening for quite a few hours. Nerve wracking to say the least. I also have no clue where we are. Just followed gps this morning and ended up - somewhere. Hospital is so brand new that t...

Re: "We haven't disappeared; We're just traveling."

Realist and I just got back from a small respite in beautiful St. Michaels, MD. Just what we needed. Pretty, quirky old b&b, history, water, nice restaurants and quiet. I wouldn’t mind living there if I had several million extra dollars to purchase a lovely old waterfront estate. And the crab!!! In ...

For the traditional murder mystery fan. Having read several of the books, I've now watched all 18 episodes a second time on Amazon Prime. Still marvelous. One of the best series ever, imo. ... Meanwhile, I'm into the terrific Brunetti Mysteries on MHz Choice; in German w/English subtitles....

Several years ago I was injured at a retail store, badly enough to require an ambulance and a “gazillion” stitches. Despite having attended law school and despite virtually every member of my family being an attorney we got a non-family attorney who specialized in my type of injury then shut up and ...

We used to play red dot until I realized one night that one of our cats had convinced herself red dot was in the hallway closet and spent about 12 hours staring motionless at the door. It made me feel like a bad cat mama. Besides Simba figured out immediately that we were somehow involved and lost i...

One of the things I did early on is similar to what others have mentioned here.. Jez, I’m late to the party as usual but some suggestions... 1). 3-6 months of expenses in the bank. Keep it separate from checking so it takes a bit of work to get to it. Short term cds and/or money market. I know it isn’t sexy but it is important. 2). Always put the maximum percentage your company ...

Surgeon just came by and said everything went fine. Even better, they let us see him for a minute as he went into recovery and since he had the stent put in without anesthesia he was awake to say hi. And if you didn’t know how much of a badass realist is , he had a stent put in through the groin all...

As realist mentioned, we did early voting on Saturday. We ended up going to the senior center since it was closest and the average age of the electioneers their was at least 127 years old. Realist even had a lady who wasn't strong enough to tear off the form! :o They were very friendly though and ga...
